Not the guy from Welcome Back, Kotter; the keyboard layout. I finally found out how to get my computer to switch to it, and it turns out to be a great opportunity to learn to type by touch, since there's no point in looking at the keyboard if it doesn't tell you the right information. Oddly, I'm finding that, even though I can't touch-type on a QWERTY, I apparently know it so well most of my mistakes are from hitting the QWERTY location instead of the Dvorak location.
I've learned quickly. I started out typing the preamble of the Constitution while watching the screen (since I know it by heart). Then I typed the Gettysburg Address from a printout (which happens to be written in a weird font I created, so that was fun). Then there's the typing I'm doing right now. So I'm only a few hundred words in and there are only a few letters whose locations I don't have memorized yet. Some of the rarer punctuation is going to take some time, I think.
