My mantra has always been, “I’m not running anywhere. Even if someone is chasing me with a knife, I’m not running because I’m sure as hell not dying out of breath.” I am the girl who wrote a scathing, thinly veiled short story skewering my middle school gym teacher (I did win a creative writing award for that one, though). I feigned a sprained

I cannot urge strongly enough that you go get fitted for proper shoes. It really does make all the difference in the world. Part of the reason why my feet are so jacked today is from running in the wrong shoes and it was worth every penny I spent to get the right ones.
I have heard rave reviews about Enell sports bras, though I do not own one myself: http://www.enell.com/index.php
A thin layer of Vaseline on the affected areas will help with the chafing.

My workout music suggestions -- anything by Aqua (I know, right? But it's so bouncy!) And I like a lot of Shawn's suggestions as well. If you're getting some Pink, get "So What" -- it's angry and peppy all at once.
And go go go!!!

I've resigned myself to going this weekend to get the shoes. I just loathe the thought of going into a store with skinny, runner types and lumbering up the front like, "yeah, I need shoes." I also realize this is primarily all in my head, but my head can be pretty damned mean. I'm guessing they really don't give a crap about me and my big butt. Heh.

I'll have to try the Vaseline (uh, once the mess I've made of certain areas of my body heal up. TMI, sorry). Do you use that instead of the BodyGlide stuff? Is it basically the same thing except for price?
Also, thank you for the music suggestions. I'm going to be broke as a joke between the togs and the iTunes.
Seriously, thank you for the encouragement and the advice. I appreciate both!

We will have no more talk like that, please and thank you. :)
Either Body Glide or Vaseline would be fine. Vaseline is cheaper, of course, and can be a bit messy but it works just as well. If you have the means, try both and see which one works better for you.
Another recommendation: double layer running socks are the shiz. I am a fan of the Wright brand and have never had one blister while wearing them: http://www.wrightsock.com/running.html
Moleskin is also another valuable item to have if you do have problems with blisters: http://tinyurl.com/ybwbob6
