I've seen what happens when you let people up to their own devices. It can be scary.

Since (according to those stupid manner books and web sites) it is technically "uncouth" to tell people that you have enough "stuff" and what you'd really like is $$ for whatever...I'll just ask. Would you rather just have $$ or gift cards since you both already own "stuff"?
