Back from Comic Con. Much fun was had by all (although Raina had insomnia on Friday and Saturday night, so she slept through most of the daytime activities!) Given my current employment situation, I kept my purchases to a minimum, but I did get to see quite a few panels. Oddly, my favorite panels were more about sci-fi fantasy and television than comics. A few quick observations:
- The new Battlestar Galactica series looks fantastic, it definitely expands on the promise of the mini.
- The Farscape mini-series looks even better.
- Ben Browder actually IS John Crichton.
- Christopher Judge is even crazier than Browder.
- Ray Bradbury has become the Dalai Llama of speculative fiction (sadly, he is very frail.)
- Stan Lee is an okay guy, but he can't hear what the hell anybody is saying.
- Women agreeing to model for "Species: The Series" (wtf?) should take care to read the fine print in their contracts, especially the part where it says you have to "wear a string bikini and sit in a little glass box for ten hours, while sweaty fat guys press themselves up to the glass and take digital pictures of you."
BTW, Raina has pictures (not of the Species chick), I will get around to posting them at some point.
