List five songs [or albums] that you are currently digging. It doesn't matter what genre they are from, whether they have words or even if they're any good but they must be songs you're really enjoying right now. Post these instructions in your blog along with your five songs. (*last part of instructions eradicated in favor of free thought)
- Morrissey - America is not the World
From "You are the Quarry". I've always liked Morrissey. In this song, he sings about American hypocrocy, fast food, and leaders who can only be white, male and hetero. As always, filled with his special blend of wry humour. - cEvin Key - Frozen Sky
From "The Ghost of Each Room". Featuring vocals by Oghr, this is practically Puppy, and along side Ohgr's album, "Welt", forms the coherence of the progression from "The Process" and "The Greater Wrong of the Right". Besides, this is a really kick-ass song. - Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Maps
From "Fever to Tell". This may have gotten too much airplay, but the first 5 times I heard it, I was half wondering if it was Siouxsie. I also heard another song on KCSU by the Yeah Yeah Yeas that sounded much like Eva-O when she was with Christian Death. It may be post-millennial rock, but it definitely has roots in 80's post-punk. - Yoko Kanno - Home Stay
The theme song from "Ghost in the Shell, the Stand Alone Complex". Resplendent in beauty. - Frank Zappa - Stick it Out
From "Joe's Garage". Details Joe's intimate experiences with a robot that he just picked up at a robot-pick-up club, first in German, than English. Don't get no jizz up on that sofa, sofa.
