Sherlock isn't mine, sadly. It is ACD's and BBC's. If it was mine I wouldn't be posting it here :P

Warnings: Casefic, OC galore, slight kid!fic, angst

Who knew dying from cancer would be so dull.

That was Sebastian Moran’s only thought as he lay in his guarded hospital bed, respirator next to him. It was his fault really he supposed; he had never been quite able to quit the smoking habit and now it had caught up with him. According to his doctors he would be gone by morning.

How boring.

Sebastian always wanted to go out with a bang. Well, first it was to go out saving Jim’s life but that was before Jim got himself tossed over a waterfall so a bang would have to do. He wondered slightly if he would see his lover once he passed over. It would be rather nice to raise some more hell, well in hell.

“Hello, Mr. Moran.” A nurse said stepping in pushing a cart, her voice colored with a tint of an Irish accent. The guards didn’t bother to follow her; Sebastian couldn’t do much more than press the call button. She was on the shorter side in blue scrubs a mask covering her face. Sebastian wondered why she was bothering; it wasn’t like she could catch cancer.

The nurse lowered down injecting more meds into his I.V. Once she did she stood up straighter but instead of just leaving she looked down at Sebastian with bright blue eyes.

“Seb, Da would be appalled that you didn’t recognize his own flesh and blood. Really, I don’t look that different do I?”

Sebastian looked at her stunned for a few moments his eyes growing wide than grinned.

“Eva.”

Eva lowered her mask slightly showing her smile. Her eyes were just like her father, alight with what Seb would call blue flame when he was really drunk.

“You really didn’t think I wouldn’t say goodbye to my other father before he decided to go and die on me? I’m hurt.” Her voice while covered in false pain was cheerful under the layers. She was just like her father; you had to dig past the insanity to get to the real thing.

“Didn’t doubt it for a second. I heard you’ve taken up your old man work while I’ve been in jail.”

Eva chuckled. “The old man wasn’t exactly old, but yep. I got quite a network; I think he would be impressed. Anyway I thought you might want to help me.”

Sebastian smiled. “Anything kiddo.”

Eva’s expression grew into predatory grin teeth and all. She pointed to the cart she dragged in then grabbed something from under the sheet on top of it. Sebastian would see the wires from the semtex poking out under the cart.

“You’ve come a long way from C4. Your father would be proud.” Eva looked back at him her eyes a little wet under her plotting expression.

“I would like to think so.” She lifted a strong box from under the cart and rested it on Seb’s lap along with a trigger button. “I figured I’d give his old friend and his dog a new game to play. I got really creative.”

Sebastian leaned up kissing her forehead in a fatherly like gesture.

“Give em hell, kid.”

Eva pulled up her mask again, her expression once again covered then walked over to the door, slowly before turning back.

“Call me Moriarty.”

Five minutes later the restricted section of St. Bart’s was in ashes. The only thing that survived was a grey strong box held in the corpse of one Sebastian Moran.

The first investigators could have sworn they heard it ringing.
