Trikke exercise and geocaching

Apr 13, 2009 10:25

Today I joined the geocaching.com website.

I looked up my home address and did a "within 1 mile" search.

Me and the boys took our Trikke carving vehicles (tcv) (BRTRIKKE.COM) and headed down the road.

We found the 3 geocaching treasure boxes that we went looking for!

The tcv is already fun to ride, and geocaching just made it even more fun!

Yeah, somebody could go to the geocache and take it........not the nice thing to do......
If you go to a geocache and its not there, you are suppose to report it.
This way the owner can either take the webpost down, or replace the geocache, or put a new geocache in a new location.

Don't you have a GPS........I did a 70535 search, and found 1877 geocaches........

I will have to do some treasure hunting the next time I visit........

It just might surprise you at how fun it can be to do something like this....even if you don't have kids.

I found one last night at my job.
It was neat to think that a geocache was there all this time and nobody was the wiser........
Its free to join, so it might be fun to do several searches in your area......just to see what is listed......might find listings down your street, at your job, at your favorite hangout area........

And there is no rule that says the geocache has to have cheap toys in it.......
You never know what "treasure" you might find.......
I was reading on the website and they said that when you start a geocache you can put "treasure" in it......for example.......little toys, stickers, camera, keys to a new car..........

But seriously, I did read one post where a person found a 1 gig flash drive.........

Well, then, looks like you have some traveling to do.........LOL

But even 8 can take a while.......we searched for 17 today......we only found 8.....

They can be very hard to find.

Not only do you need to find those 8........you need to hide 8 of your own.....then at least Eunice can grow to 16.

There's a term for them. "Muggles" It happens to some caches if they are not hidden well enough or the people who look for them draw too much attention to the area.

It's a risk everyone takes. If a cache gets muggled the owner can either archive the listing or restore the cache and hopefully hid it better.

The vast majority of caches are hidden in public forests and such so they are rarely found by accident. The ones in parks with high traffic are always in trouble.
