AL;SKFJASE;KFLAWJEFIASFKJLSKDF;SALJK; SCORP.

I DON'T KNOW IF YOU MEANT FOR HIM TO BE MATT BOMER, BUT IN MY HEAD HE WAS MATT BOMER, AND MATT BOMER/ALONA TAL HAVE THE MOST INCREDIBLE SEX IN THE WORLD.

I ADORE Talbot's characterization. You gave him just that touch of humanity that I feel like Bela was missing. I love his quirks, I love how freaking FIERCE Jo is, and the way you worked their messed up relationship. And Talbot being drunk and freaking out about it being April... WAY TO TUG ON MY HEARTSTRINGS.

Seriously though. I loooove this. ♥

YES, I MEANT FOR HIM TO BE MATT BOMER. I almost put it in the author's notes but I didn't want to tell other what to picture if they had a different mental image--far be it for me to tell them what boy!Bela looks like--BUT IN MY HEAD, HE IS TOTALLY MATT BOMER, mostly, because Fam wants that way XD

EEEEEK, I'M HAPPY YOU LIKE THIS *FLAILS* My Bela always has a touch of humanity, it's just her (or his in this case) need to survive and for self-protection override anything else XD BUT SUPER SUPER HAPPY YOU LIKED IT, especially the April part :DDDD *snuggles you*

Literally laughing out loud here - I'm pretty sure I didn't really like the idea of boy!Bela, but you changed my mind about in five paragraphs with a tie kink and a snarky line. That fast, he's still recognizable as his female counterpart; I can hear her delivering his lines, although they read and would probably be delivered a little bit differently. There's a subtly different tone to him that sets them apart and just, I've run out of words. Let me quote my favourite parts.

She wants to do it just like this, make him come all over his designer pants with nothing but her hands and gloat afterwards-but no, Jo has needs.
UNF. And YES. I love this power dynamic between Jo and Bela (or today, Talbot <3) so hard.

that Talbot stole a family ring from the corpse and now the haunting would never stop
That's actually really, really chilling. Fantastic choice of words.

The second time they meet, it’s an upscale hotel bar. Jo punches him in the face, and after Talbot recovers, he offers to buy her a drink.“I know.” Talbot gives an easy shrug ( ... )

EEEK. Awesome comment is awesome! :DDDDD Oh gosh, I'm so happy and flaily that you liked it! I'm honestly wasn't too into the idea of boy!Bela (beyond shallow reasons, that is) at first either. And then I wrote it XD. AND OMG, I AM SO HAPPY HE'S STILL RECOGNIZABLE AS BELA. :D I didn't really want to change Bela dramatically just cause she's a boy now. I don't think a change in gender should really change the personality, just the perception of that person, and how other's perceptions would shape that person. I'm not entirely sure where I'm going with this line of thought, but my point is, I don't think turning Bela into a guy should change all that much about her, but I also wanted to distinguish Talbot from Bela as well, so I'm glad there was that subtle difference there :DDDD

(omg, Jo/Bela(Talbot) power dynamics are one of my favorite thing about this pairing <3___<3) I'm glad you liked Talbot! I didn't really think too deeply about his backstory as I was writing this, but I would probably keep it relatively the same, so yeah, it's ( ... )

Thank you for taking the time to think about the differences between Talbot and Bela! I sort of wonder how the source text would have written Bela differently if she'd been cast as a man. I don't think that they would have ever had a man (even a boy) take such a passive way out of a situation like that; it doesn't really mesh with mainstream narrative. I wonder if the deal sits just a little bit more badly with Talbot, if he second guesses a little bit harder about whether or not he should have found his own way out ( ... )
