1. Photography
I've got a BFA in Photography from Ohio University. Photography's been a passion of mine for the past 5 or 6 years, but I knew I was bound to be an artist since I was 11 or so. Perhaps that isn't as early as some people but I guess it fits my personality. I kind of fell into Photography and I believe the only reason we've had such a solid relationship that's lasted this long is because you have to use your brain a lot in photography. I feel like it's smart people art - sure you need that innate skill, that eye that you're either born with or you're not - but you also need to be able to think fast and add up all your numbers/measurements/angles, and that makes it interesting for me. Whether it's in the darkroom or in Photoshop, I'm constantly having to think and rearrange and figure things out, which is what I thrive on.
2. Bowling!
Maybe I took bowling in college and didn't actually improve all that much. Maybe I have terrible technique. Maybe I broke my thumb when I tripped up some stairs, bowling ball in hand. Maybe I just need to tap out.
3. Flamingos
They're pink, they're awkward, they like shrimp. We're pretty much the same thing, flamingos and I. It took being a part of a theatre group named Your Lost Flamingo Company to truly awaken my love for this bird.
4. Baking
I love baking. Since I was a wee lickle infink I was helping my mom out in the kitchen. Baking makes me happy, it calms me and is something I know I'm good at. I especially love baking and cooking for other people. When I give you some food I've made, it's an extension of my love and it makes me so happy when my friends are eating my food. I guess I just really like taking care of others in a sense.
5. Peppermint Schnapps.
If you don't know the Party Rule when it comes to Peppermint Schnapps, now is the time to learn. When it is in effect, no one is allowed to take a shot (Peppermint Patty) unless I take one too. That's the rule. So grab your bottle of pepperminty goodness, grab that chocolate sauce, and find me quick!
