2006 Revisited....working on 2007

1. What did you do in 2006 that you'd never done before?
Taken the step to become more than friends with someone whose friendship meant the world to me.
2. Did you keep your New Year's resolutions, and will you make one this year?
I did keep last years, and I will be making more this year.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
My cousin Craig (well, actually his wife Catherine!) welcomed little Victoria, and my cousin Sara had baby Abby.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
No.

5. What countries did you visit?
none

6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?
More financial freedom and security

7. What date from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory?
It's a toss up between May 7th and June 17th (my very overwhelming Lloyd Dobbler moment) - both courtesy of tja :)

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Building the most open, honest and healthiest relationship of my life with someone I adore. 
The man of my dreams loves me.  What more can I ask?

9. What was your biggest failure?
Staying in a job that doesn't do my intellect justice (and cue New Year's resolution 2007)

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nothing new to report fortunately

11. What was the best thing you bought?
I didn't really spend much on myself this year.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Mom.  My mama bear who is fiercely protective of her cubs (and cantankerous grumpy bear) and staggers me with her selfless love and care for our family.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
there are a couple of choices here....

14. Where did most of your money go?
Rent, car (payments, insurance, gas)

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Christmas with Thomas!!

16. What song will always remind you of 2006?
I will follow you into the dark

17. Compared to this time last year, are you
i. Happier or sadder?
Much much happier!

ii. Thinner or fatter?
ummm....pretty close to the same.

iii. Richer or poorer?
definitely poorer financially, richer in the things that matter.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Supporting my family

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Worrying unnecessarily.

20. How did you spend Christmas?
Christmas Eve a.m. with Andersons, Christmas Eve/Christmas morning with Goldings, Christmas dinner with Andersons.

21. Did you fall in love in 2006?
Ohhhhhh yeah.  big time.

22. How many one-night stands?
None.

23. What was your favorite TV program?
Lost

24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I don't hate people, but there are a couple I definitely have a hard time respecting.

25. What was the best book you read?
Memoirs of a Geisha

26. What was your greatest musical discovery?
awwww man.  Tapes'n'Tapes, Matt Pond PA, Editors, Arctic Monkeys.

27. What did you want and get?
Love and Muppets :)

28. What did you want and not get?
iPod, snowboarding gloves, MV3, a better job...

29. What was your favorite film of this year?
V for Vendetta was pretty damn good, Little Miss Sunshine was also amazing.

30. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
It was the big 3-0.  I spent the day with Thomas.  It was perfection.

31. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Have I mentioned I hate my job?

32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2006?
plain jane.  Jeans, t-shirts, hoodies and ponytail.

33. What kept you sane?
mom, thomas, angela, sheila and music.

34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
none.

35. What political issue stirred you the most?
way too many..

36. Who did you miss?
my grandparents, the extended Golding/Sloan brood, jenn, em, kz, liz.

37. Who was the best new person you met?
Scott, Ken and Theresa Stainsby

38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2006:
Respecting yourself, honesty is always the best policy, and try to live in the moment as much as possible
