Well, I finished at 3M for the summer this morning at 7 a.m. It's nice to know that I can resume a normal sleep pattern, however there are a lot of things I'll miss. A few of the people really made the job something I'll look back fondly on, but the job itself can just be brutal sometimes. The upper management needs a good kick in the head and someone who's worked their way up to make some changes. If changes aren't made there soon, 3M in New Ulm is going to go down the drain and it'll just make sense for corporate to export the jobs overseas. Most of our orders come from foreign countries anyway, so it wouldn't affect freight costs and would save in insurance and payment of the workers. We'll see.
I'll be going to Ireland a week from this coming Tuesday and it's a little surreal right now. I'm starting to worry about how to pack and what to pack, but it'll all turn out alright, I'm sure.
I'm joining fantasy football so that I'll have another tie to America while I'm in the big Emerald Isle. My team name: The Caucasian Sensations. I like it.
