The month of May will start out strong, for you will have a powerful, positive full moon in Scorpio on May 9. It's clear something highly important to you is about to reach culmination and what will make this full moon so delicious is that news will be unexpected. Saturn will support this full moon too, a sign that whatever opportunity or achievement occurs will help you set up a long term, stable situation.
There are several likely areas that you may be thinking about at that full moon on May 9. First, something having to do with international travel or trade could come up. Perhaps an import-export situation will need all your tender loving care. If you don't travel within four days of May 9, you may host friendly people from abroad in your city. Alternatively, you may be excited about preparations you are making for entrance to a university in the fall. Or, you may be working on a creative project or involved with finishing a publishing or broadcasting project, which could be the focus of your creativity (or not).
This full moon May 9 will affect all Scorpios in a positive way, but if your birthday falls November 11, you will reap a double dip of benefits.
In regard to your career, you may get news or see signals that higher ups are considering you for professional advancement on or near May 5, when Saturn will send a powerful beam to the Sun. This day will come just before your full moon, so you will find it fairly easy to make a good impression. As the full moon reaches an apex at the end of the week, you may get very encouraging news - an offer or a strong show of interest. Or, you may receive dazzling media publicity for the work you've been doing all along, which would also be very exciting.
Another phase when career excitement may be stirred up will be from May 15 through May 18 when the Sun and Uranus will be beautifully angled. If you are willing to consider taking a new position (or even if you aren't), you may get a truly exciting offer out of the blue that you would have to give word on soon, possibly instantly. At least investigate what's on tap - don't wave off this offer too quickly.
If you are interviewing for a job, you need to know that you want to keep talks going slowly. Under no circumstances should you try to speed up the process, for Mercury will be in retrograde from May 7 to 30. These out-of-phase periods are never a time to accept a new position or launch a new venture. You will want to accept in June, not May. Avoid signing papers and avoid giving a verbal or written agreement.
Mercury is the most sensitive planet of our solar system. Do you remember that the element mercury was used in the thermometers of your parents' generation, before digital thermometers were invented? "Quicksilver" (the other name for mercury) is rapid in its response to conditions around it. If there is one thing that Mercury does well, it is to react - instantly.
Whenever Mercury retrogrades, however (a phase that happens three times a year for a little over three weeks), it is a reliable sign that conditions are about to shift to a new direction very soon. If you accept a new position in May, without knowing what is to come in June and beyond, you may regret doing so. Your new job could turn out to be quite different from the one you thought you accepted. This is why it is not a good time to give your verbal or written agreement to any new offers when Mercury is retrograde. Contracts you sign in May would run into problems and would have to be renegotiated later.
Now let's turn to the topic of money. You have an opportunity to talk about money, benefits, job perks, insurance, a loan, venture capital investment, scholarship, unemployment insurance, severance, and other similar types of funds that fall under the domain of "other people's money." These talks will become productive once you get beyond the new moon of May 24.
See this new moon as the beginning - a new path will appear after May 24. This new moon will allow you to open talks about getting a line of credit or concerning the fair division of property at the end of a marriage or business. Alternatively, you may discuss your perks or benefits at the start of a new job, when you are asked to agree to a compensation package. Days, weeks, or months of talks may be necessary to reach a final answer, but what matters is that you begin within the two weeks that follow May 24. If you do, you'll have the force of the universe behind you. Don't begin prior to May 24, for it will be a wee bit too early to get anything settled.
Mercury will retrograde in this very same house as we have been discussing - other people's money. This means that certain checks you expect may run late this month, such as an insurance policy check, financial aid check, child support payment, loan, accounts receivable from clients, and so forth. You may have a paperwork error with an insurance company and then need to fight the decision of the insurance company. Make sure your invoice has been put in the system, or that the application you sent in has been received. I don't think you will be paid until you reach June, but you should make every effort to get what is due you as you go along in May anyway. If you don't try, it may take longer.
All month, Mars will be touring your house of work projects, so you may find that your workload is quite heavy at the office, and possibly at home, too. At work, this appears to be good news in this economy - your contribution will be needed and appreciated quite a bit. Business could be really good, and you'll need to keep your focus! The fact that Venus is following Mars closely in your house of work is a sign of how much you'll enjoy the projects you work on now. There is something about the subject matter or your relationship with co-workers that you will find fun.
Romantically, you may still be licking your wounds from last month's very difficult full moon, March 10 (plus or minus five days). If you did break up with someone you love, try to be philosophical. Do not attempt to be in touch with that person until July. I know that's a long time, but honestly, it won't help to call now, for you will only be rebuffed. That full moon of March 10 was one of the four difficult full moons of the year. The next hard full moon is due June 7. Be smart and try again a month after that, July 7, if you feel there is a chance you can both come together again.
If you are attached and happy, last month you may have had a tough situation regarding a child or pregnancy, as the fifth house, where the full moon appeared, rules this part of life, too. If you don't have children, nor want to have them, your focus may have been a creative project in early March.
Not every Scorpio had a difficult time in early March however. For some, it was time to make a final decision, and it may have marked a joyous moment. Full moons bring situations in the extreme one way or another, and they tend to bring closure. No matter what happened within four or five days of March 10, you have a calmer month in store in May.
The very good news is that whether or not you are dating, you have an outstanding opportunity to find new love in May, thanks to the pairing of Jupiter (happiness) and Neptune (inspirational love). These two planets will travel very closely together all year. The first of three meetings of these two divine planets will happen now, on May 27, and the next two will occur July 10 and December 21, 2009. After that, Jupiter and Neptune will say adieu and go their separate ways, not to meet again until 2022. These two planets will not only help your love life, but also help you make some lovely changes to your domestic environment - good to know. If you feel very creative in May when it comes to perking up your home, you now know why!
Watch what happens May 27, but realize these two planets are now close enough at the very start of May to help you find love that is truly inspirational. You need not wait for an exact conjunction. (Admittedly, May 27 could be extra special, but keep an open mind all month). Love is calling your name, dear Scorpio. If you are attached, this aspect will let you grow closer.

The secret about 2009 is that there will be more tough full moons this year (a total of four in all) than any year in recent memory. Happily THIS month, the full moon on May 9, will be glorious in every way. That's really fortunate for you, for this full moon will appear in Scorpio. Within five days of May 9, you will see a matter of great importance reach fruition or culmination. With a warm greeting from Saturn (stability) and also a sparkling one from Uranus (surprises), this full moon will bring unexpected news and will also add to your sense of long-term security. This should be a good moment, dear Scorpio! Those born within five days of November 11 will feel the biggest benefits, but truly, all Scorpios should have something big to cheer about.
You have a chance to make some solid career advancements in May. First, Mars will be touring your house of work assignments all month, and that shows you'll be drumming to a fast beat. You'll need to work hard, but that could be good news - your contribution will be much needed, and in this economy that's always good news. Venus will travel with Mars all month, a lovely situation, for it suggests you will love the assignments you are working on.
For a career breakthrough, watch what happens on or near May 5 when the Sun and Saturn will be beautifully angled, and also near May 16 when the Sun and Uranus are in such sweet angle. That latter date, May 16, will be a Saturday, but you will feel the positive glow as early as Thursday, May 14.
Mercury will be retrograde all month, too, so you will have to be patient while financial transactions and business negotiations hit snags. Talks and negotiations will be sorted out by June, and June will be a better time to sign contracts, too. For now, do not buy any expensive electronics, appliances, gadgets, furniture, jewelry, or other pricey things in May. You will enjoy your purchase far more if you make your choices and purchases in June. Actually, this month, you may find you are running to the repair shop more often than usual with things that are breaking down or that need fixing. Ah, it's part of the Mercury retrograde process.
Delays will actually benefit you because the fact that Mercury is retrograde tells you that conditions around you are about to change dramatically. Don't try to push others into giving you quick answers. Any answer you get now would likely be the wrong answer anyway, so sit tight.
The good news is that from the new moon May 24 onward and in weeks to come, you will finally be able to iron out financial differences and also find new sources of funding - this will be doubly true in the first week of June. This new moon will brighten your house of other people's money, so that's why I feel no matter what type of frustrations you may encounter in early in May, you can expect to see the tide turn in your favor at the end of May. This is a way of saying "Stay optimistic, dear Scorpio!" From the end of May onward, you should be very encouraged. The pace will pick up and you will likely have several new opportunities to consider.
Home-related plans may bring good news, too. You will have two lovely days that will help you advance your plans for your residence, family, or other property, and they will come one right after the other!
The first will arrive on May 26, when Mars, your secondary ruler, will reach out to Jupiter in your house of home. This would be an ideal day to hire someone who would be connected with your home, such as a nanny or new babysitter, housekeeper, gardener, decorator, or contractor, as a few examples. Of course, you should always check references carefully, as this person will be working in your home, your most private place. I cannot see everything in your chart from where I sit, so you have to do your due diligence. I will admit that May 26 will be a stellar day. You may also be invited to re-bid on a house that you bid on previously - this time may be the charm. (Going back to a past situation is one of the good parts of Mercury retrograde - we get a second chance to get things right!) If you are invited back to a situation you thought was over and done, be of good cheer - this could be a good sign that things WILL work out!
You may also discuss the possibility of adding a little furry pet to your household on this day (May 26) but again, in this case, plan to actually choose and bring home your new pet in June.
At home, the meeting of Jupiter and Neptune on May 27 is sure to be a heavenly event, one that will add a note of fun and romance and allow you a wide window to express your artistic side, especially in regard to your home decor. If you have been planning to paint, renovate, repair, or redecorate your space, you can browse stores for new furnishings and accessories and interview contractors and designers with an eye to announcing your choices in early June. If you are already in the middle of your home decorating project you began weeks and weeks ago, you can proceed but watch for cost overruns.
If you want to give a luxurious or casual party for friends, the last week of May, plus or minus four days of May 27, would be the time to do it. There will be a highly romantic vibration in the air.
Jupiter and Neptune, a lovely duo, will meet two more times in 2009: on July 10 and December 21. At those future dates, Mercury will not be retrograde, making those more attractive for acting on the actual date of the conjunction. As you see, you will have a whole year to give your space an upgrade. After the last meeting of Jupiter and Neptune on December 21, these lyrical planets will not meet again until April 2022.
Romance should be really bright in May's last week, and that is good news, because the time near March 10, two months ago, may have been just the opposite - troubling. Now a new day is dawning, so take a deep breath and walk confidently into your future. If you still love the person you had a problem with in March, plan to have contact July 7, not before that. Be open to meeting new people now.

May 5, 9, and 15-18 are all sterling days for you to climb the ladder of success. Look sharp on these days. (Remember you can enter talks for a new job - just don't accept one until June.)
May 24: Open talks about certain types of funds: credit, loans, scholarships, pensions, insurance settlements, venture capital, and all types of court settlements. Talks may take a long time, or go quickly - start in the two weeks that follow this new moon.
May 26: Choose a pet for your household, or hire someone connected to your home, whether that be a housekeeper, bookkeeper, gardener, nanny, or babysitter, as examples of the type of people you may need to add to your Rolodex for help. Also, it's a good time to reorganize closets. If you need a roommate, look in the last week of May for best results, and sign that person in early June.
May 27: Jupiter and Neptune will make an outstandingly romantic vibration. You will feel their closeness in the skies all month, however, as these planets move very slowly.
