So, I realized I hadn't posted in a while, so I'm going to right now. So, continuing from last post... that night (Oct. 28), Becca also surprised me with a late door decorating and bringing over cupcake surprise! So, that was really sweet of her. Let's see what else has happened since then? Well, Halloween weekend was Homecoming again Missouri! That was awesome...it was sooo much fun! We won and it was so crazy 'cause a bunch of people jumped onto the field and tore down the goal post and walked around with it. I heard they even walked through the only "pond" on campus: Potter Lake. So, that was crazy. Then, on the 30th, for Halloween we had our floor lobby decorated (it was also for a contest...we didn't win...but that's okay!), but on the 30th, they had this thing where if you signed up for it, all these little kids went trick-or-treating in the dorms. We didn't sign up in time, but I saw them walking around that night and such. It was cute! Then, the next weekend (which was last weekend), my dad came into town, so that was a super busy weekend. My stepmom was going to come, but she had foot surgery a couple weeks ago, so she's not suppose to put any pressure on it, so she couldn't come. But my dad and I had a good weekend. What did we do that weekend? Friday we actually went into Kansas City and that was really fun, 'cause since I've been here I hadn't spent any time down there. We were in the really nice part of it called "the Plaza." So, we went to go see the movie "North Country." It's the one about the first female minner from MN and how she was sexually harassed and eventually filled a lawsuit against the company. It's based on a true story too! I really, really liked it! It's definatly one of those moving types of movies...very emotional. But it was really good. I'd definatly recommend it. (Plus I once I write up a response to it, I can count it as my outside activity credit for Sociology...so that's cool). Then, we went to dinner. And then, we were gonna meet up with one of my dad's friends who has a son that goes here too (because he was driving down for a wedding that weekend), but he wasn't here yet, so we just went back. Then, Sat. morning, we went out to breakfast with my dad's friend, his son (that goes here), his sister and her boyfriend, and his parents. It was good. I got to have french toast, which I haven't had in a while. Then, we went to the football game against Nebraska and we won! Which was awesome, 'cause we hadn't beaten them in 37 years! Then, that night, we went to KU's theatre production of "Popcorn." I guess it's based on a book. It was very sexual. But very humorous! And I get ec for English once I write a response for that! Then, Sunday morning before he left we made a bookstore, and Target run after breakfast. Then, he left....so it was pretty busy last weekend. Um...this week, not much happened. I went to our first men's basketball game of the season. It was vs. Fort Hayes State. We won (if you didn't know, KU is known for their men's basketball team). It was exhibition, but it was still exciting 'cause they just finished remodeling the new facility! This weekend has been pretty quiet, which is nice. I was sick on Friday, so I didn't even go to classes, so I've just stayed in trying to get better. I'm still sick at night though. But this next week/end should be fun. Tomorrow night we have a men's basketball game vs. Pittsburg State. This also is an exhibition game, but it should be fun. Hopefully I'll be up to going to it. Then, all this week, I won't have English class, because we have confrences with him, about our paper (mine's Wednesday). I have a Journalism test on Thursday and a math test a week from Monday, and I have to write a paper today sometime for Wednesday, so he has a rough idea of my paper. So, I'm kind-of worried about those, but hopefully they'll go okay. Then, this coming Friday, we have another men's basketball game vs. Idaho State and that's an actual game, so that should be fun. And then, Saturday we're going to have our last football game of the season vs. Iowa State! I think everyone's getting really pumped up for that game! Should be fun!
Then, I have class Monday and Tuesday (though, normally I'd have 2 classes on Tuesdays, but we're not having TLC a week from Tuesday, so I'll be done an hour earlier at 3:50). Then, we'll be able to go, because Dan is driving in that morning, and then we'll hit the road once I get back from class. Spend Tuesday night at his house, then drive to MN, Wednesday. Then, Thursday for Thanksgiving, we're going down to Austin, MN to spend it with my mom's side of the family. Then, Dan is going to stay until Sat. I think we're gonna go over to my dad's house on Friday. I think Friday during the day, him and I are planning to go to MOA (if anyone wants to come with, let me know!). Then, that night, I'm hoping we can hang out with Katie, Ryan and possibly Lora. So, I'm super excited to come home! This is gonna be a long week ahead of me though! Anyways, I should go. Later.
