House: Day One

Oct 29, 2010 18:24

Tonight the streets of Anatole are alive with the gentle strains of music. It floats through the city itself, infusing the air - something beautiful and tempting, and if you follow it, it will lead you to the doorstep of those most enigmatic figures, Anatole's Twins.

Maybe that's why the native Anatolians are whispering tonight.

The mansion itself glows with lights strung across the fences, balls of light hovering around its ornate gates like fireflies. Of course, if you step close enough, you'll find they aren't fireflies at all - a simple glow with no source, like a spell. Shedding its warm, golden glow over the premises even as the sun drops beneath the horizon.

The mist is nearly gone, tonight. You can count every star, every alien constellation.

...tonight, the mansion beckons you inside. Do you have an invitation for this most exclusive of celebrations? You should.

So put on your best outfit and bring that white card inside. A servant will greet you at the door.

[ Step Inside. ]

[ooc: the Halloween event begins. For the next 2.5 days or so, there will be a few surprises, a few twists, and a few tidbits of knowledge to share. Your character will move through endless corridors - rooms that, if they've visited the Manor before or if they work there - they will know very well should not be there. Were not there only hours before. They will be confronted by dark things, but mostly by their own fears. And in the end, they'll understand something a little better. Or maybe a little worse, who knows? Once a character steps through the doors in the back of the ballroom, they cannot return before dawn on Monday, but people can enter from outside at any time.

Today, the music follows you wherever you go, though it grows louder or softer at random, as though you're moving away from the source and drawing closer, even if you just walk in a straight line. Still, the areas are lit, and the atmosphere itself is pleasant enough.

Information for this event can be found here.

Have a happy Halloween.]
