At least, I think that is the case. I watched the pilot of "30 Rock" last night. And I found it to be one of the lamest comedy shows I have ever seen. The timing was poor, the jokes were telegraphed, badly delivered, and not funny. The characters were cardboard cut-outs, and the plot was obvious and poorly integrated with the story. Other than that, though,.... well, there's not much left, is there?
It seems like many reviewers are fawning all over this show, but I just don't think it delivered. On the other hand, I love "Studio 60", which seems to be getting decent but is not getting stellar viewing numbers (47th in the Neilson's last week, with less than half the viewership of "Dancing with the Stars".)
So I assume I'm not the typical TV viewer. And that's just fine with me. I'd rather watch intelligently written, tightly acted and well directed content over a bunch of B-list celebrities learning how to dance. Or "Extreme Makeover, Home Edition". Or CSI:Newark. or Survivor: Compton.
