He was making his way down the path back towards the apartment complex when he noticed a splotch of bright color from the direction of the Doorway. Yellow that bright wasn't a usual sight there, Riku thought, turning towards that direction.

Newbie, he thought, sighing as he decided to give the newcomer a hand. There were a lot of them popping up over the Forge so much that he didn't have a lot of patience reading the text there. There were backlogs for a reason.

"Hey you," he called out, stopping a couple of feet away. "Blond dude." And here he thought Sora and Roxas had it bad. Axel too. At least their hair didn't go all the way up. "That's not a real Door."

Turning his head slightly at the call, Cloud eyed the silver-haired munchkin for a moment before just going back to watching the door. There was an odd reminder of Sephiroth, but the demeanor and pupils were wrong. Besides, Sephiroth was dead; he had seen to that.

"Thanks, tips," he replied before turning to fully regard the silver-haired teenager. "What happens to be the name of this city? I have important business that needs attending." Like making certain that Gaea was safe and returning back to a familiar setting.

Riku would have protested the munchkin bit if only he knew, but to him, the blond guy wasn't all that tall either. Riku was already reaching his height and Riku hadn't stopped growing yet. He, after all, didn't spend most of his growing time in a pickle jar.

He was thinking of Sora, really.

"This is Anatole," he said, lifting his shoulders in a shrug. "We all have important business we have to make sure of back home, but sorry. It's a one-way trip getting here, even if you didn't ask for the ride."

He hadn't heard of that name, and he didn't entirely care to get familiar with it either. This place was of no significance to him, and there were plenty of other more important places to be. The throb of confusion as to how he had ended up here was still pressing on his temples, but he ignored it for answers.

"Anatole?" He shrugged his shoulders as he looked around the open area. People bustled, most of which were in styles and appearances he didn't recognize. "One-way trip? Inconvenient," he murmured and looked towards the fog. "What's with the weather?"

Most of the people didn't look in their direction, either, but Riku's pretty good at ignoring them back.

"Unfortunately," he gestured for him to follow, turning around. "Semi-permanent fixture. It's clear, sometimes, but a lot of the time, the fog just follows you. Careful with it, though. It's magic; malignant type and causes hallucinations and a whole lot of other effects."

The gesture to follow seemed like some kind of proposition, and he had only met the Sephiroth look-alike. He stuffed his gloved hands into his baggy pant's pockets and made it clear that he would follow. "Hallucinations?" He had fulfilled a lifetime of experiencing those.

So, the fog was dangerous? He had seen it when he had arrived here, and there was something about it that warned him off getting too close. Magic never bothered him much, but that was... bad magic. "Fog doesn't normally follow where I'm from."

dragging Haruka in~ biggestnobody December 2 2009, 06:16:17 UTC
"Waking dreams," he clarified, leading him back towards the street. How to explain properly, really? He wondered if Haruka was in. He was better at soothing peoples' fears and break the situation in gently. "Nightmares. It gets bad if you enter the fog, though. It... affects people differently, but have pretty similar reactions."

He snorted, glancing back at him. "One of the rules of world-hopping: suspend what you think is 'normal'." Turning his head this way and that, he took a deep, deep breath and calmed down, reaching out.

Aha. Turning to the left, where a few people were walking to their destinations, he followed the path. "Haruka!"

The pleasant thing about having a small walk around town after finishing business is that there was always the chance to encounter something new. In this case, it was Riku calling him over - that boy was around in the City as much as he was, really. Behind him was a young man with a shock of blond hair. His clothes and appearance made what he was rather obvious - one of the Scorched. A newcomer, perhaps. He had not heard rumors about this one.

"Hello," he greeted Riku and his friend, taking care not to mention the other's name in case something similar with that introduction to Elena happened. "Off to another errand?"

His eyes travelled back to the fog, not yet willing to test out that theory of nightmares. He wondered if that magical fog was hiding a way to escape from this... odd situation. He would have to look into that once he had figured out what the heck was going on in the first place.

"World-hopping? You need a hobby, kid," he muttered but followed along nonetheless. He had met his share of crazy people, and dealt with his share of crazy situations. Some people were just more delusional than others.

He stopped and crossed his arms over his chest at this... Haruka person. The guy seemed relatively normal looking. "Is this a 'meet the neighbourhood' tour?"

I TOTALLY DIDN'T TRACK THIS I'M SORRY! biggestnobody December 8 2009, 02:46:25 UTC
"World-hopping is my hobby." He retorted, shaking his head. His hearing was pretty good too. It was just that his full-time job was keeping Sora and Kairi safe. It wasn't his fault nor his problem if no one believed him.

He turned towards Haruka, shaking his head. "I was about to head home," he said. "But I found this guy trying to leave through the false Door." Glancing at the blond swordsman with half-lidded green eyes, he smirked. "Pretty much. Haruka knows the streets better than I do."
