[Arthur isn't very good at this; the courtly manners and decorum he learned strictly for celebratory feasts are outdated and of no use to him here. Still, he's out of his armour - a rare enough sight - and lounges long-legged and looking unimpressed on a stool, one elbow propped on the counter.

Despite his bored expression, he's enjoying watching the people come and go, the looks on people's faces as they take their wishes to tie upon the tree, and he is content to remain unrecognized - it's that sort of mood.

Still, he does sort of wish there were someone here to tell him what the food and drink is.]

Ho ho ho! Senji will drop in later (before one of my replies, so we don't get all confused) COO? yetsleeping July 8 2010, 07:08:26 UTC
[She feels a little silly, being there. It isn't her holiday (or is that a festival? Is there really a difference?) and she's not even certain that she believes in holidays... or festivals. Or wishes, for that matter. But the festival's story had been lovely, and the festival itself seems sweet, and it never hurts to put a little faith in things.

Err, well, it normally doesn't anyway.

Besides, Senji is always looking for an excuse to eat his native cuisine!

So she hangs her wish on the plant and watches the bright yellow paper swing in the breeze for a moment before she turns away,, glancing over the crowd in search of the ever wandering Crow.

Instead, she sees Arthur, a rather bland look on his face, watching the crowd.

It's automatic, after that: first she waves, and then she starts walking, and then she smiles.]

You aren't in your armor!

[Well, it's true. In fairness, neither is she.]

[Arthur notices Priscilla easily enough amongst the scattered people in the shop. He is content to let her be, though he watches her a little in that unusual outfit, much more like something from his home and time than she would usually wear.

But when she smiles, an answering expression quirks the corner of his mouth, and at her words he sits up a little straighter, feeling strangely light without his chain mail. He doesn't even have his gloves or long brown coat, since the weather's turned so much warmer recently.]

Didn't think I'd need it. [He raises his eyebrows at her.] This is supposed to be a party, after all. And you- you're wearing a dress.

LMAO THAT'S. OKAY I NEED TO GO TO BED SOON ANYWAY. yetsleeping July 8 2010, 07:46:03 UTC
I've worn dresses before!

[...well, all right, not very often. Actually, come to think of it, it's normally when she has to negotiate with the Anatolians and doesn't want them thinking she's going to eat them. Or cut them in half, as the case may be.

Still, she glances down at the dress in question and tugs the skirt with her fingertips.]

I didn't want to scare anyone. Although! I don't believe in leaving home without some kind of weapon anymore.

[The daggers, in this case, safely strapped to her ankles, out of sight.]

Anyway. You look very... dashing.

Dashing.

[The twist of Arthur's mouth is a dubious one, but then he gets a little smirky, glancing down briefly at himself as his ego responds favourably to being stroked.

Arthur has a knife at his belt, subtler than his sword but equally comfortable in his hand, and he pats the hilt without saying anything: he, too, has precautionary arms. But he keeps coming back to dashing, leaning back even further in his seat.]

Well. Thanks. You look wonderful.

[Ducking his eyes away to avoid the awkwardness of the easy compliment, he notices her empty hand. Perhaps courtly propriety isn't quite useless here, because he slides to his feet.]

Would you like a drink?

[Precautions are always desirable, especially given the dangers of the city, and Priscilla glances at the Arthur's dagger when he pats it, tipping her head down with a little acknowledging nod. She even manages not to giggle at his virtual preen.]

Thank you! I-

[What? Drink?]

Oh! No, that's okay, I don't really--

[Drink much. Well, he does know that, doesn't he? But she finds herself explaining so often that the words are halfway off her tongue before she even notices. Another deep breath - didn't someone say she needed to stop being so tightly wound?

...not that she's sure what that actually means. Colloquialisms.]

I'm not even sure what the drinks are. Senji is around somewhere, though. I made him come so that he could identify the food and then he just ran away!

It's food from his home, you know? Um. Japan? Maybe he can tell me what those pieces of chicken on a stick are.

[She wrinkles her nose a little - not so much in disgust. Really it's more... confusion.]...it isn't that I necessarily think it's odd to put ( ... )

[Unable to help himself, Arthur chuckles sheepishly, sitting back down so as not to overshadow her so thoroughly.]

I have no idea what the drinks are either. Perhaps it's best not to risk it.

[Glancing around the room, he keeps an eye out for Senji once Priscilla speaks his name. Contrary to public perception, he doesn't actually mind Senji's company even every time they've ever been in a room together they seem to have tried to out-bravado the other. Something about the bastard turns Arthur posturing.

Still, as much as Senji seems too chaotic for something as mild as a pleasant celebratory gathering, having a guide to the food would be nice. There's no Lenalee this time to steer him towards the cake, and all the bravery of a Knight of Camelot isn't enough to help Arthur taste-test unbidden.]

I'm not even thinking about attempting the food. There's raw fish. [Arthur pulls a disgruntled face that speaks to what he thinks about that particular dish.] Who knows what other bizarre things they've laid out.

[RAW FISH. She glances back at the table, eying the dishes.]

That's probably the... sushi.

[Her tone definitely indicates skepticism as well. It just seems like an odd idea to eat raw meats. Possibly dangerous, even.]

I've heard about this sushi. I'm told it involves vinegar and seaweed? ...and there's some kind of tea. But it's greenish?

I think it's tea, anyway.

[Arthur pulls another face, this one even less impressed.] I'll stick to regular meat, thanks.

That's not very open-minded of you, y'know.

[Oh look it's Senji, he's overheard your conversation on his way over and now he has to be critical of both of you for it.]

[He has his hands stuffed into his pockets, so he just sort of nudges Priscilla's shoulder when he gets close enough.]

You come all the way out to this nice celebration of Owl's and you won't even try the food? Tch.

[Oh, there he is. Priscilla scrunches up her face and nudges him back... on the arm, really, since their shoulders are nowhere near each other.]

That's because the food is unfamiliar.

[She nods, as though that explains everything.]

...are you two going to start bickering now?

/larapile supercilious July 10 2010, 20:53:07 UTC
[Arthur gives a sharp baring of teeth that could probably pass as a grin, and though his words are to Priscilla his replies are on Senji.]

Hardly. I'm sure Senji's going to be on his very best behaviour.

[Short answer: yes.]

[He gives Arthur a little eyeroll.]

Yeah, and I'm sure princey here wouldn't dream of bein' his usual self out in public like this, so we're probably safe.

[Also yes.]

Anyway it's just food, it's not gonna do anything to you. Owl's not that sadistic.

His usual self? I don't know, he's pretty pleasant...

[Although in fairness, she is incredibly biased. Being used to him. Or, really, both of them.

[Priscilla looks around quickly for somewhere to sit, and pulls up two little seats - very cute little stools.]

I'm just a little... bothered by food that hasn't been cooked. Not on my own behalf! But isn't that a little, um, unhealthy?

Maybe there's something on your world that helps with that kind of thing?

[Arthur had fully intended to snipe back, but instead he just smirks a little at pleasant - these two in conjunction really do bring out the worst and most childish competitive instincts in him.]

Not to mention; fish, and rice, it all seems rather bland.

[Oh god what is with these two. He is eying them, and decides to answer Arthur first.]

Guess you'd know all about being bland, buddy.

[He ignores the stool for the moment, just in case he needs to haul over and force these heathens to eat. But for now he points back at one of the tables with his thumb.]

You don't seriously think we'd eat this shit if it wasn't safe, do you? There's a special way of preparing it, that's all. What's with you?
