I think some of your cut text got eaten by LJ... lonestray February 27 2010, 08:29:28 UTC
[This day has been getting harder and harder on him as the hours drag on.

In the morning, when he made that post about the birds, he had felt a little fatigue that he was sure was related to pushing himself at the arena lately.

He could still walk without much difficulty when he made the call to Sakura that afternoon. But since then...time has slowed to a complete crawl. He'd gone to check up on Mei all of once since that call--all but fell on the couch on the way back.

Scar was in no shape to take care of Mei right now and he knew it. And as much as he had hesitated on contacting Sakura earlier, he knew that he'd have to ask her help after he was certain Mei was all right.

It takes some moments for the doorbell to register in his lethargic mind, and when it does, he's far from quick in reaching the door. His knees threaten to give as soon as he is upright and there is a slow and unsteady walk to the door (propped against the wall for the most part), but he straightens his back a bit when he opens the door to let Sakura in, hoping to distract attention away from his own decidedly poor condition.]

Thanks for coming. I really do appreciate this.

[He turns to lead her to the room in which Mei is sleeping, but his knees buck violently when he tries to move from his position and he catches himself on the back of the sofa.]

s-sorry about that...

[Sakura doesn't need her sharp eye to see:]

You're not well either.

[Ever a scolding tone. But she had expected it. With Scar, Sakura knew that when he said "fine" it could mean anything between "No, I really am fine" and "I'm two seconds from falling unconscious, but like hell I'll tell you."

It's a word she's become familiar with, so she never believes that anyone is "fine" until she can see it for her own eyes.

As such, she'd anticipated this.]

I'll tend to both of you.

[Don't even try to argue with her. But to mollify him, she'll help the younger of the two first.]

Which way to Mei-chan's room?

[He'd been closer to "fine" when he'd originally called her.

By now, even he could admit that he was barely functional now. Not that he'd say it aloud to her, but she'd already picked up on the fact that he wasn't well--it was hard not to, at this point--and he was pacified enough by her decision to treat Mei first not to bother arguing. Scar doesn't have the energy to, anyway--he might as well save his strength to walk to Mei's room.]

It's...this way...[Mumbles weakly as he staggers in that direction, the sofa, and then the wall bearing much of his weight as he goes.]
