WELL HERE IT COMES iwithoutaname February 14 2010, 04:50:09 UTC
[Johan has been living as Ingel on and off for a few weeks now, covering his face with those pretty illusions he's been playing with since his arrival - a little different than himself: the eyes a bit more closely set, wave in the hair, a narrower jaw, a longer nose. It was a pleasant enough face - the kind of face that gets someone access to the upper class areas. The kind of face that makes it easy to find a middle aged couple willing to take him in.]

[But a few weeks could be a long time, and Johan has already gotten bored with it. So tonight, he decides, is the first step in an exit strategy. But first, he'll need to find a new game to play.]

[This is the kind of thinking that brings him to the party. In fairness, he's always enjoyed a good party. The music, very quaint, the clinking glasses, the atmosphere.]

[It's always a good way to meet people, too. Such a pleasure.]

[Speaking of clinking glasses, the bar is also an excellent place to meet new people. That's how he finds himself leaning against it, beside a young japanese man, listening to the idle chatter in the area.]

[He smiles, just a little, head lowered, just before he sips his drink.]

Don't scream, someone will hear you and then Johan will need to shoot them. iwithoutaname February 14 2010, 05:53:13 UTC
[Light Yagami. Johan sets the glass down, a mild look on his face. Not an uncommon expression, particularly for him.]

[He remembers that name, of course - ah, one of the justice types. Which is interesting really; it wasn't the impression he got from the young man just from his first look. Instead, it had been... something else. Something worth probing?]

[Ah, open it up, see what's inside.]

It's good to meet you, Yagami-san.

[A quick nod to his companion's culture. It's always good to be polite.]

I'm afraid I haven't spend much time on the network, but I'm Ingel. You may remember my recent storytelling post? Well, maybe not. It isn't the most memorable thing that's been talked about there.

WELL NOW THAT YOU MENTION IT. iwithoutaname February 14 2010, 07:53:19 UTC
It's German.

You could say it's a mixture of both. I like to read stories from other worlds to the children here. It keeps their spirits up, especially in dark times like these.

[Johan laughs, very quietly, almost inaudible really, and only for a second or two.]

Of course I wouldn't tell them that story. It's not a very optimistic plot.

Yes, something like that. Although...

Johan glances at Light from the side of his eyes.]

It's hard to predict how a parent will react, these days.

Yes, it seems like a dangerous time. I wonder if it was like this before we arrived?

[Oh, that brings out a small smile. Johan takes a sip of his drink.]

I've been doing very well. The locals aren't equally hostile to everyone, after all. It depends on how you approach them.

Of course. Well, you seem to be a very intelligent person, I'm sure you'll find a way to apprehend the person responsible.

[Johan glances at Light again, still not quite turning to face him.]

[In fact, he's almost entirely sure that Light Yagami is far more intelligent than he actively lets on. That wouldn't be remarkable, except that he also seems a little haughty. The mix is definitely... unique.]

Matters of crime and law can be so complicated. At home, I was a law student, so I know a little bit about it at least.

This is the worst moment ever. and by worst i mean best. iwithoutaname February 15 2010, 01:40:59 UTC
[False modesty? It's like a little mask. And something else under it, too, which makes this a lovely little game of hide and seek.]

Hmm. Actually, I've been meaning to ask whether you should I could be helpful there.
