[But... with the world being so grim these days, why not try to find a little brightness?]
[So, Priscilla arrives promptly at the start of the party, and immediately gravitates to the phonogram because, hey wait what is that thing?]

Looks like you just barely beat me here, Sis.
[Helen tries to snake an arm around Priscilla's shoulders while arching a brow at the music maker.]

[Well! She definitely should have noticed Helen approaching, but she was just so distracted by that little machine, so... okay she jumps a little. Just a little!]
Ah! Oh, Helen. Um. I don't like to be late for things. It's rude.
[She blinks once at that arm-snaking business, but doesn't stop her, anyway.]

[She shrugs a little and takes a drink before offering the cup to Priscilla. What, they're half monster already, it's not like they have to be worried about germs.]
But if you'd waited a little longer, he might've already been here to see you walk in in that dress.
[Helen grins a little, full of mischief but nothing cruel this time.]
I would've loved to see that.
Reply
It's a pretty modest dress.
[A tiny frown.]
And I don't think you can just say he and assume that I'll know who you mean! It's not like...
[There's no real way to end that sentence, alas. Because of course she did know, didn't she?]
Reply
I never said it wasn't. But you have to admit, it's a little more flattering than the Organization's dress code.
[She takes another drink, eyeing Priscilla as she speaks, and ultimately trails off.]
Any he, then.
[Helen slides her arm away and has to resist the urge to swat Priscilla on the rear. Because that WOULD make her sputter.]
I'm just saying. You look really nice.
Reply
Thank you. You look... barely dressed?
Are you going to let that drink affect you?
Reply
[She looks...perfectly at home in the dress.]
Maybe just a little. We wouldn't want to disappoint our host, right?
Reply
Well... do you think they'd be disappointed if you didn't get drunk?
...I've actually never been drunk, you know.
[Probably not too surprising.]
Reply
[Her silver eyes dart around the room pointedly. So many different kinds of people. And there a couple of Claymores are, right in the middle of it all.]
I'm not surprised. You're a good girl.
[Something about that...makes her sigh.]
Reply
[Well, maybe she should get a drink for that after all. ...she glances at the earlier rejected glass in Helen's hand.]
May I?
Reply
[Helen starts to lift the glass to her own lips. Because it is different, and yet sometimes she finds herself missing home.
The glass pauses at Priscilla's request. Helen smiles a bit before surrendering it.]
There's plenty, you know.
[Not that she should actually encourage it. But then she does a lot of things that she probably shouldn't do.]

I know. But I don't want to get carried away. I accidentally got drunk once, and Scar had to come and rescue me from Dismas! It wasn't very dignified.
[Still she glances over at the bar, currently mostly occupied by the back of men.]
It's a little strange. There are so many men here. I don't think I've ever been to a social gathering with so many men!
...or. A social gathering, come to think of it. Even Arthur's just shown up!
[She smiles a little at the name, but still glances at the door.]
I wonder who else will be here.
Reply
[Helen eyes the men, trying to identify a few of them before turning her attention back to Priscilla, who's turned her attention to the door.]
So, did Senji say he's coming?
[Helen leaves the 'or am I gonna have to go drag him here?' part unspoken.]
Reply
He didn't say. Or, well, he said maybe?
Do you think I should have brought a date? I thought about it, but...
Reply
[It's pretty obvious that Priscilla wants him to show up. So she'll be a little encouraging.]
I guess that all depends.
[She takes the glass back thoughtfully.]
I'm sure a lot of guys would've been happy to come here with you. But there's gotta be some reason that you didn't, right?
