[Tony Stark is a complicated man. No one will ever need to tell her that. He can be equal parts hedonist and workaholic, and he's shown both sides since their arrival. But lately it's been more the latter. In fact, Pepper can't remember the last time she saw him work this hard. And after a recent conversation, she thinks she understands why.]
[He's trying to make life comfortable for them, yes. Closer to what they're used to. But he's also blaming himself for not getting them out of there yet.]
[It touches her in a way that only the things that he does can. Pepper sends him a message - Give it a rest. - and waits for him to come in from his work. Even he wouldn't work through this night, provided he even realizes the date.]
