Game Fowl clutched the map in her strong grip, crinkling the paper. It wasn't like she was nervous or anything. Okay, that was a lie. She was nervous. In the back of her mind, a part of her still felt like this could all be a trick..or a dream. It wasn't even two months ago that she and the rest of Scar Chain escaped from the madhouse known as Deadman Wonderland. Though at first there was no celebration, no one smiling or happy. They had all lost a big influence in their life, their leader Nagi Kengamine. He was killed during their mission and without his death their freedom might not have been possible. Life was so bittersweet. Of course the loss hit Karako the hardest. She had helped him build Scar Chain, finding new members, devising a plan. He was the first person that approached her, not intimidated by her emotionless expression or standoffish attitude. He crashed right through her wall, completely changing her in the process. She would always be greatful for that.
She became a different person and happier because of it, gaining a purpose and a family. Scar Chain looked out for each other no matter what. But they had lost the clasp that held them together. And Karako felt like she had lost her purpose, only consoling herself with the fact that Nagi was in peace now, with his wife and kid. He had finally found his freedom. Or so she thought until she learned that he had ended up here or was it a version of him? It didn't make any sense. She had watched him die, had mourned over his cold body. Karako wasn't sure what to think anymore. She couldn't let herself hope until she had proof, saw him face to face. She couldn't lose him again.
She stopped in front of the location he had told her, holding her breath and then exhaling before knocking against the door. "Owl! It's me. Open up."
