[Hungry. Deneve almost never gets hungry, a bite or two of any of Helen's culinary experiments always enough to last her for days. But now there is a gnawing in her belly worse even than the random hunger pangs she sometimes got since pushing the boundaries of awakening.
She stalks the marketplace, looking for... something. She doesn't know much about food but she knows there is some specific thing she wants. She only learns what it is when she sees it.
An olive. Unfortunately, there is only one left at this stall. That won't nearly be enough for her, but it's a start at least. She reaches to take the last one, looking toward the back of the stall to find the vendor.]
