It was him alright. Sora jumped into the air, bringing his keyblade down on the snakes that attempted to follow him, calling up an occasional Fire to get rid of a particularly pesky one. He batted several away and into a nearby wall, before his name was called and her perked.

"Tifa?" He called, turning to look at the woman, starting to smile. Yep, it was definitely her. He made a face when he noticed more snakes head his way, speeding up and attacking those before they could reach him or Tifa, slowing as he finished up the last of them. He turned to face her again, grinning.

"I told you these snakes were toast."

Tifa's eyes lightened when he acknowledged her. It was an easier goose chase than she had anticipated. She began jogging in his direction when two snakes virtually flew right past her and towards Sora. Her face slackened with fear at their speed towards the boy. There was no way she'd be able to catch up and stop them. Fortunately for her, Sora was much more skilled at defending himself than he looked. So he hadn't been lying ( ... )

And then they both leveled up. fightswithkeys October 29 2009, 03:05:52 UTC
When you were given a key and spent two years expected to be defending yourself and others with it, you got pretty proficient with it pretty quickly. Not that Sora minded so much. He had people to protect and friends to fight for.

He nearly protested when she pushed him behind her. It was his job to protect others after all. He watched in slight awe as Tifa kicked and punched at the huge lizard, impressed. She could do some serious fighting.

Grinning when she turned to him, he nodded, swinging his keyblade in his grip. "Not a problem!" He promised, turning to the unconscious lizard, swinging against its left and then its right, finally jumping to land a final blow on its head.

He pulled back, glancing at her with a smile. "You're a really good fighter. I don't think I could do that without my keyblade."

Tifa smiled as she watched Sora finish off the lizard. It was a strange sight, really. Like a mother being delighted at the chance of watching her son fighting and killing an overgrown reptile.

"You're not so bad yourself," she responded warmly to his comment about her being a good fighter. "Cloud prefers a blade too. Some people are just better with weapons..."

She looked around at all of the dead snake and lizard carcasses and smoldering buildings. There wasn't any fire left in this area, but the smell of ash and flame was pungent.

"So," Tifa placed her hands on her hips and looked down at him sassily. "You've run into both Cloud and Aerith in your home world?"
