[ and she substitutes common for italian where she can. occasionally, she looks up at sebastian to ask if he knows the italian for one word or another. your life is totally awesome, seabass.

fortunately for him, shirley takes the book, waving her away and telling her to eat a late lunch. off, annalee scampers. oh, wait, she forgot something - ]

[ and she plants a kiss on the kitten's nose. yeah, she named the kitten "ghost." ...in italian. but off, she goes. for real this time. shirley just looks amused about this whole thing, if not as mockingly as she has been in the past. ]

[Well, that's interesting. What also might be interesting is that every time she asks, Sebastian has the correct response for her.

As Annalee runs off, Sebastian glances down at the purring kitten and back up at Shirley. He was hoping for some alone time with the cat, but Shirley doesn't appear to be leaving.]

[On the fourteenth, he'd been one of the many furiously churning cogs of the working clinic, which by now clicked together so well he was only noticeable when he was absent. Which happened on the fifteenth, when he went to help Merlin. On the sixteenth, he's back and goes directly to find Shirley.]

I just received this.

[hands her his forge, set to his personal channel, and hits playback.]

[ interestingly, she looks very puzzled at first. mostly because one, why is he giving her his forge, and two, why didn't she see this before? then, she remembers those things called inboxes and voicemails or something like that that lilly explained once. (okay, what a time to be considering technology, shirley. really.) oh, right, anyway. she watches. ]

[ when shirley looks up from the forge, she looks as though she wants to say something else. not at all related to convenient doctors in times of emergencies. but she says nothing and instead, holds lupin's forge out for him. ]

[And here, have an angel patiently knocking on the door of the clinic. He looks more than a little harried.]

[only in time of battle do the clinic doors close. Not always then, either; usually can't spare anyone to guard the door, but in this particular case, it's worth the cursory effort. Of course, the face that peers out at Raphael from the sliding panel of the door doesn't seem like someone who could fight off an invader of any kind: an Anatolean boy less than five feet tall. But any inclined to try would find they couldn't open the door to get past the kid, and not through the kid's power either. Something else at work.

[Well, this is a bit odd. Anatole in general has been a disturbing jolt to his system, accustomed as he'd been to heaven. He hadn't really been expecting a receptionist even in the best case scenario, but a child... were they really in that dire a situation at the clinic? Raphael can't help but shake his head a little.]
