Just her luck that when she went out, hearing about the creatures, that she encountered one of the hellcats. And just like back then, she felt the fear, the urge to fight to keep it from killing her.
Though it hurt like it did every other time, she didn't fight the transformation from girl into bastet. Ferocity was the form of the black winged creature leaping on the first beast and tearing right into it, intent on dispatching it. ]

...no.
It couldn't be. But it was.
Mouth slightly open as she makes her way toward the girlbeast.]

The hellcat goes down with a final scream of pain as Freyacat tears its throat out, not noticing Bella's approach at first. Once she drew near enough, Freya's head snapped up from the hellcat corpse, staring balefully at Bellatrix with a low growl. ]

[Narrow eyes as what's left of the hellcat explodes into bits. If it knocks a man with it, cracks his head against the wall, she doesn't seem to notice. Either way, there will be no rods heading toward you, girl-wrapped-in-cat-wrapped-in ....just what are you?]
Who are you? Did she send you?
[Had Luciela recruited others? How come this one had not identified herself? These are the questions that plague Bellatrix, not the issue of the growl, or the stink of the explosion a few feet away.]

Still unable to control her transformation, the change occurs all the same, no longer feeling in danger from the creatures. Especially since one is now the shape of paste. ]
Wrrr.. [ Words starting to form as she shifts from cat to human, bones cracking, her skin bubbling as it shaded lighter, less furry and back to flesh. Naked flesh, but flesh all the same. ] ..W..Wroarh you talking about?
[ A gasp of pain as the last bone snaps into place, and she quickly grabs the tattered remains of the dress, hugging it against her. Modesty preserve! ] Wh..who is she? No one sent me. [ But she knows Bella doesn't she? She's heard her voice, seen her face before. ]

Your true form. Which one is it?
[A muttered word, a flick of her wand and Freya might find that she's dressed again. Another word and the tears in the fabric mend themselves - whispering as they go.]
Luciela of the South, of course.
[And what she has become. This unstoppable force of destruction that will bring the city to its knees. Where it should be.]

... I don't know anymore.
[ She was human - she wanted to think of herself as human, but she wasn't sure she could count herself among them anymore. She was a monster. ]
Luciela? [ Wasn't that one of the ... ]

[Smiling.]
And so do you, it seems.

[ Though she never looked closely enough at the beasts to see if the mark actually did match. She moved her hand slightly to peer at the mark on her arm, hesitant. ]

I ... yes, I did but - it ... it isn't because of her. I've been like this even before coming to this place. I don't like to talk about it.

[Yes, she is crazy enough to stop and have this conversation in the midst of chaos. Because you're a sign, Freya. So she'll just toss up a shield in case of ...more cats. They are unpredictable after all.]
Then you've been brought here for a purpose, I'm sure of it. What you have is a ...gift.
Reply
A gift? [ What. No one has ever said her curse was a gift. ]
I... I don't think it is. It's only brought trouble.

Does the thought of victory trouble you? You are touched by something truly great. It should not trouble you in the least.
[The sounds of Natives dying? That's victory.]

All of those people - not just the ones here - they didn't... I didn't mean to kill them. Or hurt them. I didn't want to.
