Spencer made his way quickly through the streets of Anatole, his service weapon safely tucked into its holster in its normal position on his belt, his ever present messenger bag bouncing against his hip as he moved. Part of him was curious as to Riza's sudden invitation, but he wasn't going to question it. He hadn't gotten much of a chance to talk to her since their argument over the events of that one night near the market place, and, at the very least, her invitation gave him the excuse he needed to check up on her.

Once he arrived, it took him a few seconds to spot Riza, but when he did, he made his way towards her, a hand raised in greeting.

She was holding her smaller revolver - her favorite gun, and the one she almost never left home without - with the cylinder flipped out from the frame for examination when out of the corner of her eye she caught the movement that was Spencer approaching. She snapped the cylinder back in place easily and turned to face him, nodding in response to his wave ( ... )

"It was my pleasure, although I must admit... your invitation wasn't one that I expected to receive."

Spencer could probably say the same thing as she could. There weren't many people outside those who were and had been in the BAU and his mother that he ever felt truly comfortable with, and while his list was growing here in Anatole, it wasn't growing by leaps and bounds. It was only a few people longer then it had been before his arrival, but still... Morgan would probably be proud, he was making friends and most of them were of the woman variety.

Dawn and Riza were the only two here that he felt comfortable talking to, telling things to and even then, he reflected, Riza knew more about him then Dawn did. She knew of his demons and from her responses, didn't seem to judge him for them.

"That sounds fine. You know the area better then I do, after all."

"I'm sorry. I'm sure it did seem like it came out of the blue. It's a bit of a long story and to be honest I'm not sure how to explain it without sounding ridiculous." She glanced away from him, eyes to the ground avoiding his gaze. "The short version is... I needed a friend."

A friend she would feel comfortable talking to about this. The entire subject was very touchy - hence why she had such strong feelings about it in the first place. And she knew how she would sound trying to lay it out for someone because without a few details she could not give, it would seem like she had blown the whole thing out of proportion. But of all people, she thought maybe Spencer would understand. And she didn't think he would make fun of her for it, because that was the very last thing she needed in her current state of mind.

"All right," was all she said in answer to his agreement. Turning in the direction she had suggested, she started walking, keeping her pace moderate so that Spencer could catch up easily and walk beside her if he so chose.
