A tournament of arms is not particularly unusual to people from many worlds. But this one is a little different.
For starters, everything's odds and ends. While the buildings are sturdy enough, some of the armour is mismatched, the swords and bows of varying makes, scavenged from the ruins or bought from the blacksmith. The entertainment is just as unlikely: the costumes on sale might be period, but just what period is up for debate. There are flower wreathes and strange food and people cavorting around.
But above all there is noise, and laughter. Music and the clash of steel on steel. For the next four days, Anatole will forget about its troubles and take some time to simply enjoy themselves.
