Who: Dende (holy_pickle ) and YOU! When: 5/8 late afternoon Where: on the streets of Anatole Format: action/prose whatever you're comfortable with! I'm impartial! What: A classic case of hurt feelings Warnings: A sad, sad little green baby ( Under here )
It's the one day Gokudera has off, and he's trying to get to know the city a bit better, by walking about and blending in. Though he's dressed the part, his bright silver hair easily gives away that he's not from this world.
He was in a good mood until the sound of a child crying met his ears. The teen growls, irritated, until his eyes fall on Dende.
"Hn?" Gokudera blinks, feeling a bit nervous. The alien was actually out in public?! And it wasn't even... doing alien things. Why was it acting like a little kid? He bites his lip and glances about. Okay, no one is watching him, and people seem to be actively avoiding Dende now. He approaches, trying not to be too loud, and casts the small alien child in his shadow.
"Yo." He gives his best smile (it's strained), and lifts a hand in greeting. "Dende?" Maybe this kid will relax... he doubts it, but it's worth a shot to get him to stop bawling.
Dende sobs subside a little bit at the familiar voice, and he looked up at the source. It was the human from the box! Dende hastily picks up the forge he dropped and scampers over to him. He was a nice human! He wouldn't let the others throw rocks at him again!
"Mr. G-Gokudera! S-somebody th-threw a-a rock a-at me!"
The little Namekian holds out his hand for the human to see the bit of purple blood on it. Since he was a taller human, Dende felt as though he was the right person to go to when looking for an adult.
Gokudera blinks, taken aback by the kid's honesty as he runs up, holding up his- That was blood?!
The teen drops to one knee to inspect the color, "It's purple..." He says and tilts his head. How odd. Gokudera is very careful not to touch it or Dende, worried that there may be something about him being an alien that might negatively effect one of them.
"Ah!" He hadn't meant to make the kid cry again! Quickly, he pulls a handkerchief from his pocket. "I-I'm going to clean it up, okay?" The teen tentatively wipes the purple liquid from Dende's palm, then pats his shoulder so he can turn and get the small wound on his head clean.
"I've never met a Namekian before..."
It's a shame it has to be under these circumstances that he meets his first alien, but he's also thankful that this child seems to be from a kind race.
Dende turns as is directed, letting Gokudera treat the injury.
"We don't leave Namek anymore. Namekians used to be very well known for their technology and space travel, but 500 years ago there was a big storm and almost killed all life on our planet."
Dende sighed sadly. It was a story the elders would tell him and the other younger Namekians frequently. Dende liked to hear it... but he wasn't going to any more...
He's careful not to press to hard as he dabs the blood away. Thankfully, it's not deep, so it isn't bleeding as profusely as he's seen before. Gokudera just continues to clean as he listens.
"You must be a very hardy species!" The teen says, astonished that something that seemed so weak could live through what would have wiped out their native life.
Gokudera stands and gives him a thumbs-up as he pockets the handkerchief, "There! Stay out of trouble."
The teen blinks, then rubs the back of his neck awkwardly. He didn't mean to confuse Dende with that signal, so instead focuses on their conversation.
"You were asking the wrong people, then..." Gokudera scowls as he looks around. One native actually seems intimidated and runs into someone else. He looks back down at Dende. "Here. Follow me."
He looks terribly unamused when he turns away. Was this kid really an alien?! He acted just like a human kid. They weren't even far from his destination, so how could he get lost?!
"B-but I was asking politely! Just like I was taught to! D-do you think I did something wrong? I-I don't know human customs very well... m-maybe I messed up!"
Dende trots up next to the human and takes his hand. He didn't want to get separated... or have somebody try to hurt him again.
"No. You were doing the right thing. You were just asking the wrong people. The people born here aren't nice." Gokudera shakes his head. He wasn't sure if all the outlanders weren't nice people, too, but it was worth saying that they might be more accepting of the alien.
"We're like unwelcome guests." The teen looks down just as Dende grabs his hand and freezes mid-step. For someone who didn't know human customs very well, he was sure acting pretty comfortable. Gokudera lets out a grunt and continues walking. For now, he could just... ignore the hand-holding.
The little Namekians looked down sadly. But the humans he had met were nice... shouldn't they all be nice then? Like Namekians were all nice... and Freiza's men were all bad.
"B-but I thought all humans were nice...."
He didn't want to give up hope just yet though! There had to be some other reason they weren't being nice!
"A-are you sure I didn't do anything wrong? M-maybe I didn't ask right! O-or m-maybe t-t-today's just a bad day for asking questions!"
So Dende's kind had been to Earth!! He looks excited, then wonders why the kid wouldn't know... maybe he hadn't been there personally. "All humans are different."
"Like I said. I think it's just the people around here. No one would really be that rude to a kid for reasons like that."
"Uh-huh! They came to our planet to help when.... to try and help when my people were in trouble..."
He looks up a bit confused. he had never experienced a race of people that were all different like that... but then again until recently he had only seen other Namekians.
"I-I've never heard of people being so different before.... I-I've only met bad races, and bad races...."
"Other aliens have been to your planet? Even humans..."
Gkoudera honestly doesn't know if he should believe something like that. Maybe, this kid was also from some different time or dimension or something! That just didn't piece together correctly.
"Well, there are good ones, and bad ones, and mostly good and mostly bad..." He shrugs. "It's all up to interpretation, though."
"S-so how can you tell the good and the bad ones apart? On Namek it was easy... the bad ones were the ones that attacked you..."
Dende let out a sigh... well by that logic he knew who the bad people were in the town...
"I guess that means the boy who threw a rock at me was bad?"
He was trying to understand, but it was difficult coming from such a black-and-white situation... and even that was new. He had known nothing but peace for the first part of his life.

"Do all Namek creatures bleed purple...?"

"I-I think some... I-I don't know... w-we try not to hurt other creatures b-back h-home... b-but I-I know a-all Namekians do..."
Dende looks down, going a bit pale... he had seen enough of his brother's blood to know. He bites his lip as his eyes begin to well up again.

He turns back around looking up at the human and his odd gesture. He looks at his own hands and mimics it, holding it up just like Gokudera.
"Like this?"
He pouts a bit at the second statement.
"I-I wasn't getting into trouble! I was just asking how to get back to the hotel! And nobody would tell me!"
