"It's weird, isn't it?" The voice might strike him as instantly familiar, considering how it hadn't been that long since they'd first spoken. She must not have been far from the Door herself, although it was just as likely that she'd taken advantage of the speed that this world had blessed her with. She smoothed her hands down the front of her suit before closing the distance between them with a couple more steps.

"Rex, right?" Her eyes flickered over him curiously. She'd been working on her poker face, but a few of her thoughts shined through despite her best efforts. Elena blinked when she reached the top. Something there seemed to catch her interest above all else.

"Are those goggles?"

Rex turned at the sound of the voice, eyes widening just a tad. She was pretty good looking, wasn't she? The suit instantly caught his attention. Agent Six would probably approve of her style of dress, if he were there.

"Yeah, that's right," he answered, putting on a confident smile. Didn't want to look as uncertain as he felt, not in front of a lady. "And you'd be Elena. Nice suit."

At the mention of his goggles, Rex reached up with both hands and adjusted them where they rested on his head. Unlike his jacket, he hadn't had those prior to his time with Providence. "Yep. Stylish and functional. I like to think they really round out my look."

If she put stock in her appearance, it was primarily to look professional. And it's probably a sad thing that Elena barely considers herself female. She's a Turk, a label that transcends...well, everything. She's had to learn to keep up with the guys or get left behind. She even wears the regulation undergarments, which just happen to be boxers.

Err. Too much information?

Something about the goggles softens her though, makes her posture become slightly less perfect than it was before.

"My roommate used to wear those. ...I'm not really sure why." A frown touched her lips. She should've asked him. Elena does shoot him a little smile for the compliment to her suit. It's a quick way to win her over.

"When I first got here, I used to stand in front of the Door for hours at a time. Taking notes." She added that last part a bit sheepishly. "I actually haven't looked at for a long time now."

"Eh, they're always good in a fight. You know, keeping the monster slime out of your eyes. They're great for keeping clear vision while flying, too, or just for any general safety precaution. Goggles are awesome like that. So your roommie could have had 'em for any reason." Rex offered a casual shrug.

At the mention of The Door, he glanced back at the massive structure again, studying it once more for a few seconds before responding to Elena further. It wasn't exactly good news that someone else had spent so much time watching that thing, only to apparently give up and stop coming around it at all.

"Did you learn anything important about it? Kind of reminds me of...I dunno... Like an inter-dimensional television with someone with a short attention span constantly changing channels."
