Bella wasn't a friend, and she wasn't family, either. What she was, however, was somebody that kept things interesting, somebody that wasn't inhibited by Anatole's law or her fear of the consequences for breaking it-because she wasn't afraid ( ... )

A slight sense of nausea washed over Draco as his feet found solid ground again and his aunt released his hand. He bent over just slightly, catching his breath to force the sensation away. He honestly didn't know why the people her didn't simply floo instead of apparating. It was significantly easier, but the answer was pretty obvious to him. She's delighted to hear this, Draco, because for a moment there she wasn't sure. But now he's gone and spoken his introductions, sounding every bit the pureblood he is. So she's blamed her previous doubt on the mist and shadows passing his face, and for the moment all is as it should be.

He's an effigy of both parents as she peers at him, tilts her head, watches, waits. This brings with it a measure of conflict. She feels both protective yet irritated - a projection of disappointment that is, thankfully, like most of her moods, highly mutable.

It shifts as the shadows do when Yazoo parts them. Good with the entrances, that one. Makes a statement.

She supposes it says fear me. She doesn't, but she can entertain where she could. It makes for better company ( ... )
