"This is AWESOME!"
Junpei had been hearing about something big coming up. The locals had been pretty excited about the festival coming up. Junpei loved festivals, went to a lot of them as a kid, and had gotten himself pretty worked up about checking it out. He remembered fondly the times when he was little and he'd head out to a local festival, get some cheap, bad food, and buy himself a
hero mask. He'd get a different one each time, and wear it around the house, pretending he was saving the world until the rubber strap gave out. Then he'd staple a broken rubber band to it, and save the world some more.
Plus, he'd heard there was free food. He had to go.
He spent half the day there, riding some rides, steering clear of the freak show (he had enough of that at home), and stuffing himself with food and drink (remembering: rides first, food later; a lesson he learned early in life). He couldn't find a goldfish-catching game, but in a game that involved tossing big wooden coins into small glass fishbowls, he won another kind of
weird-looking fish that looked a little like a tiny sword. (Junpei laughed every time he though of "swordfish". It was fitting.)
Worn out and full of various local food, Junpei decided to call it a day. But on his way out, he noticed a weapon shop with an impressive display of swords. He wasn't in the market for anything new, but he did have an excuse: "Well, Irene's gonna teach me how to really use one of these things..." Just as the thought entered his mind, a
blade glinted and caught his eye. "Oh... dude. That is perfect." He pointed, getting the attention of the vendor. "How much?" And it was done. Junpei bought himself a sword.
Holding up the little fish tank carrying his new pet, Junpei addressed the strange fish he had won. "Come on, man. I'm beat. Let's go home." He smiled and swung his new blade over his shoulder and swaggered happily home.
