Who's afraid of the big bad wolf? )
But even-perhaps especially-if it was a being that couldn't control itself, it needed to be stopped.
Lupin looked around at this self-assigned team and found he was unaccountably nervous. He'd thought broadcasting that… well, outing announcement was difficult. And it had been. This was worse.
Glancing around, with either a rueful or petrified smile, he said,]
All right.
[Forcing down his lingering dread, bizarre nervousness, and acute humiliation, he laid aside his jacket, said goodbye to the rest of his clothes (better to do this all openly so everyone could see and not be surprised; and damned if he was going to top it all by stripping), he…
changed.
It was hard to remember how painful it used to be. It was still unpleasant… but perhaps the worst part always had been the fighting against it.
Panting a little, the Wolf shook itself, shedding shreds of clothes, made the distinctly (deliberately) doglike gesture of scratching its ear, and looked around at them.)]
[In an utterly inhuman, and for that comically demure, voice:]
All right?

He kept looking right ahead while Remus changed, focused on the task and doing his best not to pay any mind to the fact that he just... changed into a pretty terrifying looking creature.]
If you take any hits, I've got your back. Cure magic is something I'm good at.

[The monster growls, and the hackles along its neck and back begin to raise.]
[Suddenly, it starts to run. Coming for them.]

His claws remain sheathed. The aim at first is only to knock it over. Show it there's something sort of like one of its own kind around and give it time to take that in. You've only encountered food so far. Will you try to communicate if given the chance? Moony's posture is an animal kingdom equivalent of Hi there… We can talk this over…
Of course, if claws become necessary, teeth will be ready too. He doesn't think lycanthropy will be an issue should he bite this thing. Might even soften it up.]

Careful, now. [He isn't sure who he's saying it to, really.]

[Its eyes slide from Hope to Remus.]
[It mistakes his willingnes to negotiate as fear. After snapping its jaws a couple of times, it runs towards him, lip curling and ears flattened back.]

[All right, don't see this being resolved with diplomacy.
Moony rears to his full height and brings his claws down full force as they collide. As they tussle, he'll spare neither claws nor teeth.]

[Hope's nervous. He wants to cast magic, but-- well, the flaw here is that he could his Remus, too. Great. Airwing won't be much use either, so he holds his ground, and waits for a chance to cast.
At the first opportunity, he flings fira at the enemy wolf, a single target fire attack.]

[It yelps at the magic attack, backing off a couple of steps as it registers both its opponents.]
[The muscles beneath its skin tense before flinging itself through the air, focusing its attack on Hope now.]

[OOC: Thank you for tip!!]

He's still tense when Remus intercepts, and flings a barthunder at Remus, a shield from the spell he's about to perform. It shouldn't hit him, but just in case, it'll offer resistance.] Thunder!
[Electricity flies from his hand, and towards one feral wolfie.
... Assuming everything goes right.]
[ooc; you're welcome! C: ]

[When it stands this time, it only looks in the direction long enough to make sure they're not right at its back before jerking its head in the opposite direction.]
[The beast has turned tail and ran.]
