It's almost like when they first met. Officially met. (Running out cause a room is crowded and a kid's freaking out? Not official. Now libraries? That's more like it.)

But it's not a library, and she's not scared shitless (at least mostly) when she makes her way to the bar and takes a seat.

It's weird. Being back here. Ten years passing in the space of what, a week? Not that she's not used to weird, but this is just.

Yeah.

So she waits. She's lost some of her fidgetiness over the last few years, so she's mostly still as she sits. She fights the urge to check her teeth again because she hasn't eaten anything since she last checked, so the fear of broccoli being stuck in there? Silly.

She brushes the remnants of vampire off her jeans, looking around for another familiar face. Maybe a familiar face that hadn't aged.

That's what bothers her the most - the fact that it all seems so random.

Well, okay, it's second on the list. This meeting? It's awesome, sure. I mean ...this place? It changed everything. It.

But.

Shit.

She winces as she recalls herself asking questions, all flail and babble and blah blah blah like a little ball of energy (Ha!).

[..so are you a a kinda dangerous, building-climbing superhero of awesome? I mean for real?

Do you ...know Batman? Y-you seemed pretty ...upset when I mentioned ...you know. That's when the f-bomb happened.

Nice to meet you Jason. Finally, a name to a face. I didn't want to have to keep calling you angry-texting-guy, or leather-jacket-wearing-possibly-dangerous guy forever, you know.]

Those are the ones she remembers the most.

She didn't get it then. At all. No matter how much she thought she may have. She's not even sure she gets it now, because it's shitty, and it's fucking confusing.

And it kind of killed her interest in comic books pretty much forever.
