[Johan smiles up from the glass tile he's trying, more or less successfully, to caulk into place.] Thanks. [He sits back.] This would be a lot easier if they'd invented shatter-resistant stuff already.

[He laughs.] Do you need help with anything?

[thejewelergem]

[Pause. Considering.] Do you know anything about fixing screws that won't screw anymore?

[fierycourage]

Not really, but I could try to figure it out!

[thejewelergem]

[Johan points.] Chair has a loose leg. It's cheaper to get new screws than new chairs, so I thought I'd just replace it but then I . . . kind of had trouble getting it taken apart. [Yeah, that screw is totally stripped. Good luck with that, Jyuudai.]

[fierycourage]

Okay, let's give this a try! [He walks over to the chair and starts fiddling with the screw. After a few minutes, he starts to realize that maybe this isn't going to work.] ... Hmmm.

[thejewelergem]

[Johan finishes with his glass tile.] Any luck?

[fierycourage]

No. None at all. [He still tries to get it to work nonetheless.]

[thejewelergem]

Nnnnnnnnn . . . .[Johan stares at it.] I wonder if I should ask Matt for help.

[fierycourage]

[He's not going to give up just yet! He's still trying to fix it.]

Is he good at stuff like this?

[thejewelergem]

Yeah. He's our . . . tech guy, I guess you'd call him. [Leaaaaaaaaaaaan.] I think I probably screwed it up pretty bad.

[fierycourage]

[He looks at Johan.] You didn't. I'm just not very good at fixing these kinds of things is all.

[thejewelergem]

I meant the screw. They're not supposed to look like that. [He sighs.] Whatever . . . I guess one loose screw isn't a huge problem for now. [He glances around.] I guess once the tar dries we can clean the windows, but that's supposed to take . . . awhile. A day, I think.

It looks pretty rough. [He sounds a little worried.] Do you think people will actually trust me, or am I sinking a whole bunch of money into something that's doomed to fail?

[fierycourage]

Well, we'll still have plenty of time to clean the windows.

[He smiles.] Of course people will trust you! I trusted you the moment we met, after all!

Yeah, but that's you. Not all of these people are as trusting or . . . you know. Nice.

... I guess that's true. I haven't really been here long enough to know how the people here treat others.
