Who: Anyone! When: Before dusk. Where: Aboard the ghost steamship The Victoria Format: Go with what you like. What: The temporary "crew" (that would be you) get ready to go diving for treasure. Warnings: TBA
[The lure of adventure is hard to resist, especially for one who had the hunt in his blood. After days of treading lightly and getting a feel for this city... it was time to let off some steam, as it were.]
[Crosses his arms and leans back against a deck railing, right where he can see potential crewmates heading up the gangplank. At length, he draws one of his knives and begins to scrape it against a whetstone.]

[Maybe she just needs something to think about other than, well, the things she's been thinking about. Or maybe it's just that she hasn't gone swimming here yet, and for years before that at home, and she kind of wants to know if she still can. But Priscilla is tempted enough to show up, and tempted enough to lean against the railing, too, staring down at the unfriendly waters below.]
[She presses her lips together a little, looking down.]
[...did she see a tentacle, or was that her imagination? Huh.]
/DROPPED IN ON, WELCOMES IT BIG TIME \o/poweroflegendSeptember 12 2010, 00:28:54 UTC
[When he lifts his head again, there's a familiar blonde young lady there. He remembers her from the Forge and seeing her here's a pleasant surprise. Knife and whetstone vanish as he paces over to her, in time to catch that splash in the water. Was that a tentacle just now?]
Priscilla. A pleasure to meet you at last. [bows] Trevor Belmont. We've talked over the Forge.
SORRY FOR THE DELAY, UH. LOTS OF. IC DRAMA. >.> SOByetsleepingSeptember 15 2010, 08:56:24 UTC
[Oh! Trevor! She remembers him very well - they had so much in common. Aside from the whip. Which makes her smile, just a little, as she pushes away from the railing.]
Trevor!
I'm sorry I didn't say hello! I was a little... distracted.
COMPLICATED LIFE SOB SOByetsleepingSeptember 16 2010, 23:18:42 UTC
Well... I don't spend a lot of time near the water. I mean, if I can help it. It's... wet.
[She frowns a little, because that explanation doesn't always work. But then again, sometimes it does, so she gives Trevor a hopeful look, like she's waiting for confirmation that this somehow makes sense.]
...Zack once told me about pleasure swimming. And something about pools. But I don't really know anything about that.
SHE'LL NEVER WANT FOR ALLIES. NEVER!poweroflegendSeptember 17 2010, 04:39:08 UTC
[She must lead a sheltered life of sorts. Though he wonders if it's not so much 'sheltered' as 'clueless'.]
You should try it sometime. There is nothing quite like it after a long hunt. With someone you love, even better.
[Thinks back to his wife. A longing smile here. Then he nods to one of the diving suits on display] Will we really be needing that later? Wearing it might mean reduced agility, and that might be a problem.
.... i think 'clueless' is a pretty good descriptor myself... shes always confusing herself! yetsleepingSeptember 17 2010, 09:06:40 UTC
[With someone you love?]

[She instantly turns pink.]
Mrmph. Well I--
[Oh, good better subject matter! She leans back, balancing on her heels and holding onto the railing.]
Well! It might help with breathing? Or... pressure, maybe. But then again, I guess it depends on who you are! Some people might not... breathe. Or have problems with pressure.
Yus. And I think back to her early days and get all, "Oh Pris, if only you hadn't turned."poweroflegendSeptember 17 2010, 13:42:33 UTC
[The non-humans here, she means.]
Not very many of those here. From what I've seen at least. [Glances off the railing.] Either way, this will be good practice for the means of living I intend to make.
And for a Claymore, a kindness to match Cynthia's ;_;poweroflegendSeptember 17 2010, 18:55:15 UTC
[Perceptive lass.]
Aye. I've found out there is a market for monster body parts, bones and such, as well as demand for escort and extermination duties. Both are roles I can fulfill as needed.
I would live that way myself, but I'll be supporting a family in time. That is... should I ever make it back home.
[Regards her anew over something she said earlier. It has to do with those striking silver eyes and the vibe he's been getting since the start of this face-to-face meeting.]
Priscilla, you mentioned you're not human. How so?
[Direct! She blinks once, and then glances at him sidelong, even as the water below them stirs.]
Well...
[And then she leans over the railing, holds her hand out into the air to feel the breeze, and the light spray of the ocean.]
I am what you could call a hybrid warrior. I was born human, but... I have the flesh of a monster inside me. And that flesh, it changes us. Our bodies, our minds.
I'm sure I'm nothing like I would have been, if I hadn't become what I am.
[To be born inhuman was one thing. To have that inhumanity thrust upon you was an entirely different matter. Despite Priscilla's serenity, Trevor can't help the surge of righteous rage that briefly runs through him.]
"It takes a monster to fight one." How dare someone decide that for you.
[Watches the almost childlike tilt of her hand stretched out towards the breeze and the waves. Then:]
But you seem to have accepted your lot, just as I have mine.
[Crosses his arms and leans back against a deck railing, right where he can see potential crewmates heading up the gangplank. At length, he draws one of his knives and begins to scrape it against a whetstone.]

So did I.
[It definitely wasn't just Trevor.]
What manner of beast was that? Would you know?
