Does anyone else hear a bunch of crows cawing? Oh, right. That's just the voices of newcomers. This is just my first time hearing so many at one time, I guess I just got confused.

[...She just doesn't sound very confused.]Really, I'm surprised Priscilla hasn't started up some kind of welcome committee for situations just like this. But I'm sure ( Read more... )

A welcoming committee? Hm. I might do that. Thank you, Helen!

[Private to Helen.]

Thank you for helping me, too. Really, you didn't have to.

...little crows?

Don't you think you've got enough on your plate already? One thing at a time.

[Private]

Oh, trust me. I wouldn't miss something like that.

Crows. You know, those annoying black birds.

I can handle it. Although I am a little busy...

Why don't we wait and see what some of them are like before we give them the big welcome? We might want to tell them to go back home instead.

Baiting who?

...I don't think they can go back home.

[Private]

Crow. Who, by the way, seems to like cutting people's limbs off. Since he did it again last night.

[A little pause.]

Not mine.

I know, I know. Too bad.

[Private]

Now why would I bait him? It's not my fault he chose the most annoying bird as his little nickname.

I don't know. You don't like him?

Dismas is interesting, though. Have you gone there yet?

What makes you think I don't like him?

I haven't exactly had the pleasure yet. What kind of place is it, anyway?

Doesn't exactly paint me a picture.

What? Nothing! Nothing's up!

It's... a city, it's...

[What, Priscilla, flustered?]

[She takes a deep breath.]

It's a small portion of the city, but it drains our abilities away. That was strange. And the city itself is... dark and a little dangerous, and apparently full of crime although I didn't see anything particularly bad. There was one area he refused to approach, but I'm not sure why.

[Well, she has a hint. The prostitutes, you know.]

I've only ever been there once before, and it didn't go nearly as well as this time.

[Oh yeah, she caught that.]

Take it easy, would you? If I didn't like him I'd say so. He's just fun to play with.

Well, when you put it that way...

[Can you hear a smirk? I think so.]

Who?

Are you going down there? Remember you won't have your abilities.

Which is why I'm buying daggers tomorrow.

An old friend. Though not old enough that you would know her.

Maybe I won't even need them. Honestly, I'm just going to take a look around. What's the big deal?
