[The Forge turns on to show one Renly Baratheon in some
fabulous new clothes. He has taken note of the fashions in Anatole, and is determined to be as in line with them as he possibly can, because -- well, pretty clothes. He clears his throat a tad and directs a smile at the camera.]As many of you can no doubt see, I've gained a new wardrobe.

If you spent half as much time with a sword as you do on finery, you might actually be passable in combat.
[ It really was strange how easy it was to slip back into old habits with both Robert and Renly. At times, it was almost enough to shove actual thoughts of Westros to the back of his mind. ]

[He frowns a little at Stannis' suit, but -- it is passable, at least, if a bit boring for his tastes.]
And are you going to look for, ah, employment?
Reply
[ He ignores that frown. It is more than acceptable, and practicality is far more important. ]
I imagine so. [ and... another consideration. ] You neglected to mention your position as Master of Laws on Robert's Small Council.
Reply
Indeed. I do not think it would hold much stature, here.

[ Even if all he did was jape with Littlefinger. ]

I would change it, then, but this --device is difficult at the best of times.

[ To support our elder brother may or may not be implied in there. ]

[ And for a moment a hint of uncertainly passes over Stannis's face. Do what you will.
How does a man function when he is enitrely free of duty? ]
I remain somewhat unsure. The Lord Comm- [ ...correction ] Lord Stark's bastard suggested the Patrol. I said I would assist them if the need arises. [ Though truth be told, it does not particularly appeal to him. ]

[But he makes a face, all the same. Combat is necessary, yes, but he's never actually liked it.]
Ah. Well, I'm sure you will find something to suit you, soon enough.
Reply
Then you would do well to learn at least one of them.
I imagine so. [ another long pause. ] Perhaps something to do with ships.
Reply
Ships? I did not know you had a fondness for them. [And then a teasing grin.] Shall you become a pirate?
Reply
I was Master of Ships for years. I have more than a passing fondness for them. [ he cleches his jaw. truly, it was nearly like old times. ] Perhaps you should consider a position as a fool if you are so fond of pointless japes.
Reply
I do not think there is much place for a fool in this city.
