[After some toying with this Forge thing, Oberyn learned the basics of the contraption. It is more useful than it appears, or so he learned.]

Is there a place where one may spar, or perhaps ride on horseback? Training grounds, perhaps, is the better term for this, though I do not truly expect such a formal place to exist.

You'll find no shortage of sparring partners.

[Oberyn eyes the boy briefly. His is not a familiar face.]

I see there are many fighters in this place.

A good thing, if you ask me.

From what I have heard of this place, I would say so. Terrors in the night, as some would say.

Ones that are entirely real.

Hm.

What is your name, boy?

Jon Snow. And I'm not a boy.

Lord Commander Jon Snow?

[He did not expect the Night's Watch to be here as well.]

[A pause.]

Someday. But Jeor Mormont is yet my Lord Commander.

[... Of course, he is from another time than his.]

A mistake on my part, then. You must be a skilled fighter if you are in the Night's Watch.

[Is that sarcasm...?]

We're the ones who defend the Seven Kingdoms.

That is one of the few shreds of truth from when I was last in Westeros.

It would depend on what truth you seek and where you seek it.

Tell me, Jon Snow, what of Westeros last you remember it?

[Oberyn cares not for bastard names, nor making a point of it. He has fathered and claimed eight himself and each of them he loves and holds dearly.]

My father had been executed. My brother was marching with his bannermen.

And the Night's Watch was on the move under our Lord Commander's orders.

[Eddard Stark's bastard. Of course, he should have known.]

So your time is different from mine then. You must know already of brother's fate, I would assume.
