I fail to see how this could be 'homemade mackeral miso' when obviously no one made it and it's coming from a basket.

[Wrinkles nose slightly. Not too fond of fish, this one.] Ah, maybe it was made in someone else's home?

.... and placed in a basket?

Then again, stranger things have happened around here.

We~ell, I've got wine here of a stock that I know we depleted five years ago, and... [He holds up a jar with a faint grimace.] ...salted mackerel which according to the label was prepared six years ago, but which is - unfortunately - still fresh.

I can't say I'm surprised, given the nature of this place. Last year had refilling bottles of alcohol. I do believe a lot of the populace spent last year drunk and then hungover.

[Laughs.] I can't say that I much mind the part where I have a basket full of alcohol that keeps refilling, no. Although I wish the fish would stop doing the same. I've got no idea what to do with it all. [Pans camera over several jars of different kinds of fish, mostly salted or stored in oil.]

Hm. Maybe donate it to those who are stocking up for the winter months?

I guess. [Looks doubtful.] Does anyone actually eat salted eel of their own free will? [This concept is strange to him.]

Eel can be used in Sushi.

[Blergh-face forever.] Sushi, that's that thing you make with raw fish, right? I had it in one world I was in. [Shudder shudder.]

It can be made with raw fish, yes.

I've had it once. Not a nurturing experience. I let the ninja have the most of it. I like my food to be cooked.

It can be strange for those not used to it, I suppose.

[His voice shows he's actually rather amused by this.]

It wasn't very funny, you know. I was so close to throwing up.
