[ Theon toys with an ivory, flicking it between finger and thumb. He's lounging on a rough wooden bench, and he's propped the Forge up on the slightly raised bench behind it, giving him free hands and the feed a clear view of the circle of dirt and grass that makes up Wynn's arena. ]

I think this city is far more to my liking. Even if the women ( Read more... )

How long before you declare yourself king?

You mistake me, Snow. I am but an instrument of... fate, or the gods, or whatever these people believe in.

If you wish only to serve, you should seek out my Father once again.

And spend my days with people waiting for me to monsterously skin someone? Strangely enough, I think I shall remain.

You mean the native women? It's their culture, so what.

Aheh, fighting for justice?

A more modest culture than its sister across the waters, sadly.

Wynn allows its criminals a trial by combat. I am willing to fight - for them or against them, I'm not particularly picky.

To me, they're both overly modest. The grief I get for not wearing what they wear is bad enough, believe me.

Why is that, may I ask?

Surely because I believe in every man's right to a fair trial. And the money's good.

And what do you wear, that has the population of two cities turning their eyes away?

Perhaps they simply don't care for their own safety? They are a little dead, after all. Our safety probably isn't very high on their list of priorities, either.

Start it anyway. You seem like a risk taker~

Are we not all of us here a little dead? Or have I mistaken the purpose of this place?

I gamble, but only on better odds than that queer Mist brings.

[ Not everyone wears long skirts. ]

Are there really enough people who want to go over to that island to make your own ferry service?

[ Everyone in Wynn does. :( ]

Perhaps, perhaps not. More to the point, I would make no money charging for a service The Victoria provides for free. A man with a wife has no need for a whore.

[ Anatole > Wynn ]

He does if his wife is ugly. [ Which obviously translates into; ] You could make it a luxury boat ride. If there aren't sea monsters.

I'm no merchant, I'm afraid. The boats I'm used to captaining were built for battle. But I suppose any vessel without that godawful smell would be considered a luxury.
