So do lighthouses often random appear and light up on their own, or is this something new?

I tried to gather information from it, but it didn't seem to yield much. Which does lend to the whole new idea.

At least whatever this is a sign of, it'll probably help things be less boring.

Which is always a plus if you ask me.

Well, the lighthouse has been there for some time. But no one I've spoken to can remember if ever being actually... lit. Seems odd, a lighthouse with a light that's never on.

And for myself, I don't mind boring. But the Anatolians seem to be worried, and that can't be good if you ask me.

I suppose I never gave it much notice before. Not with everything else here. It does seem strange it would be suddenly lit after all this time.

They do restless. How worried should I be about that fact?

In my experience, which is admittedly limited, only bad things come of them being collectively concerned. They always seem to know more than we do somehow.

I suppose it's to be expected, to some extent. They were here first, after all.

That's true. And perhaps they have a sort of... connection with the place that we could never have. I don't think the Mist affects them in the same way it does us, either.

They're free from it's effects then, or just less vulnerable to them?

From what I understand from my research, outsiders like us upon arrival in this place are "scorched" by the Mist, hence the name we have been given. The "scorch" can manifest in many ways - even as much as superhuman powers in some cases - and universally prevents us from aging and can bring us back from the dead. For those who are native to this place, it is not the same. They are vulnerable to the same hallucinations or injuries relating to the mist, but are never conferred the powers or immortality we are afforded.

So they're probably jealous of the gifts the Mist bestows to us, but not them. Among other issues.

In all likelihood, yes. Though I think the simple fact of our being outsiders might be enough to make them wary of us.

Understandably. People always fear the unknown, after all.
