first treasure [video]

[The camera flips over and over a few times, it even tumbles and drops once before it gets picked up.]

So you're a communicator, huh? Hello there! Uh, I was told this place is called Anatole... where in the world is that? I've never heard of it, never seen it on a map either.

Anyone mind explaining just how the hell I got here?

The question of how exactly is a bit complicated. No one knows exactly but everyone seems to think the Door has something to do with it. You're on a different world now... probably a different dimension.

[She smiles.]

So it seems you'll need a new map.

Different worlds, different dimensions... sounds crazy if you ask me.

Any place you can get one or is it on this thing too?

It does seem a little out there, I'll admit. I wish there was a more normal explanation and we could simply catch a plane and fly home, but it's not the case.

There's one on here.

[And a text link appears reading "right here!"]

I don't even see planes around here. [The place itself is strange... Victorian in look, but the tech is far more sophisticated... weird place.]

Thanks. I'll be definitely needing that.

No, nor will you see any. And no cars either. They don't have them here and even if they did, there really isn't much of anywhere to fly or drive to. From what I understand, this is the last surviving city on this world.

[Now that catches Nate by surprise.] You sure about that? I mean, I heard people talking but I didn't know if I should believe them or not...

It is difficult to be certain, given that the city is surrounded by mist which can cause hallucinations, madness and death, but it seems to be the popular theory.

I'm guessing no one's tested this theory yet, right?

That depends on how you mean. I've been out in the Mist myself - just once - and I can most certainly attest to the madness and hallucinations. I don't know how anyone could keep walking to see if they could find another city and not be killed by the Mist.

Right, right. The technology here might be too old to make a functional suit against it.

Anything else I should know about the Mist? Besides, you know, hallucinating.

Hm. It comes into the city every now and then and causes trouble for everyone. It can affect people's behavior, I believe. Though I'm not sure how without bringing magic into the equation.

Magic. Of course.

[Once upon a time he wouldn't have bought that one for a minute.]

That bad, then.

Yes. I suppose that's one way to look at it.

Maybe there's something good out of this. Who knows.

There is some good here. Despite the fact that we can't leave by our own volition, there are almost as many wonderful things here as there are awful. It really depends on the day.

Just like any other place.
