What are you promising to accomplish?

I promised Al I would get his body back.

[A perplexing promise...at least for Isley to hear. He hasn't been keeping a close eye on Edward since his arrival. One set of eyes can't see all, unfortunately.]

His body?

Voice;

He....lost it in an accident when we were ten, eleven. I promised him I would set it right, get him back to normal.

Voice;

How old are you now?

[As...this sounds like it happened some time ago. A curious thing indeed to try and repair injuries sustained years ago.]

Voice;

Fifteen. Al's fourteen. It took me a year before we left and I joined the military, so we've been looking for a way to get back to normal for three years now.

Voice;

[Isley is silent for a long moment.]

[This young man's predicament is hardly his concern, but he does admire that kind of dedication. Especially, it would seem, in the face of consistent letdown.]

[There were some that would have told him Awakening would cause him to lose himself completely, that he would not have strength but madness for it. If he'd listened to them, he would not be where he was today. This powerful, and this...not human, but not entirely inhuman either. Sometimes, anyway.]

If you keep on, no doubt you will succeed. [Though, at what cost?] Persistence is often rewarded.

I've been looking for a way this long. I'm not going to give up. [Determination, his stubborness and guilt have got him this far. Ed is bound by his guilt and promise to do whatever it takes in order to get Al back to normal. He knows Al doesn't blame him, claiming it's both their fault for what happened, but Ed will always blame himself more.] I made a promise. I'll keep it.

Not many can make a promise of that nature and speak it with such conviction.

[If anything good can be said about Isley, it's that he has a special place in his "heart" for those with passion to pursue their dreams and uphold their promises, especially when those goals are selfless ones. He may be a monster, but the man in him still possesses some honor and nobility.]

Not everyone keeps their promises. I know even in trying to keep this one, there's a chance it might not work, but I have to try.

[Because Ed is aware he and/or Al could die in the attempt to get their bodies back. He'd keep his auto-mail prosthetics if it meant Al was whole again.]

Voice;

[There is no sense in fixing what isn't broken, but if you are broken, then taking the steps necessary to see yourself fixed...is the only way to go. And broken can be interpreted many ways, so Isley understands this.]

Your brother is fortunate.

Well, I make mistakes, but...I'm trying to set things right, at least.
