I've been thinking more and more about the future lately.
[She has a tiredness in her voice that some of you might be familiar with. Behind that is a thin whistle of wind, and the soft patter of water dropping somewhere nearby from the recent rain.]
It's strange, I never used to. I had no reason to. I knew what my destiny was at home, in the service of the people who made me what I am. There was never any reason to question it.
Those people aren't here now, though, and I've met one end already... And I wonder. In a place where any of us could vanish in a moment - could be corrupted or killed or worse - is there a point to worrying about your future?
Has someone written them down already and now waits for us to fulfill it? Or is there something else.... I wonder, Anatole. Don't you?

[As hopeless as that might be. She never finds them when she looks.]
