Unlike the patrolling division of the... Patrol... noncombatants are more than welcome to join. The benefits of membership are identical to the benefits of membership in any of the divisions - free room and board in the primary headquarters or either outpost, and a livable salary.
The Search and Rescue division will be headed by Riza Hawkeye! Most of you know her, I think - she's a longtime resident and has been invaluable to the community for a very long time. I can't think of anyone better for this position than her.
So! If you're interested, contact her or me - but maybe more her, she's the leader after all.
Speaking of the Patrol itself, though! New members are always welcome in the patrolling or policing divisions as well. Again, the benefits are identical, it's only the responsibilities that vary from division to division.
In the patrolling division, you will be expected to go through an assigned area of the ruins with a partner and attempt to clear the edge of the city of monsters to prevent their wandering into Anatole itself. Other duties include dealing with monster or extern invasion threats such as, um, cannibal elves or, well, living dead things and monsters and that kind of. Thing. In this division, you would report directly to Arthur or me.
In the policing division, you would report to Byakuya Kuchiki and deal with matters of crime and order keeping between members of the community.

...this naming problem is an issue. Does anyone have any ideas on what we could call the overarching organization, rather than just calling it "the Patrol?" It's. Confusing. I mean, not to me! But that's because I already know what it means. But to everyone else, it could definitely be confusing.

On another note entirely... I assume most of you have experience with fighting awakened beings? Um. Would any of you mind telling me a bit about those experiences?

Did you know that, until Riful arrived here, I'd never met an awakened being? So really, it's only ever been you two and the other two Abyssals. And then... another one. I met in the ruins yesterday.
...she didn't really have much of a personality, to be honest. It just made me think... because I've been thinking anyway.
Have you two ever wondered... why you are the way you are? Why your personalities survived when so many other awakened beings become no better than yoma? I wonder.
