[a soft voice, more to himself, musing it over as if he’s watching it.]

The sun… it’s nice to see again.

[there is a coughing sound, stifled by a hand. A match is struck and the sound of someone taking a moment to smoke is heard. Then a clearer voice speaks.]

It really is nice to see the sun again, isn't it?

[audible smile is audible] I guess when something is as regular as the sun rising, we tend to take it for granted.

Nothing like a week of darkness to remind us how much we need the light in our lives.

At least someone understands. Even the smallest ray is a welcome sight at this moment in time.

I was starting to get ready for the darkness to stay longer though. I'm surprised, for some reason, that it was here for such a short time. Not that I'm complaining.

Heh, me too, but I won't complain either. [a grin] I'm gonna miss the snow, though.

...I don't think I've seen you around the network, are you new?

I think I'll do fine with out the snow, as nice as it is once in a while, I think I can pass on it.

Ah... yes... [A bit of a pause. He was sure he'd hear a lot of this.] I've been here for some time now. I just... well, after a bit I stopped using my Forge. I... suppose I should get back into the habit. After all, it's helpful.

It sure was pretty, though. Think I would have liked it to last a little longer. Though, it hasn't melted yet, I guess. [soft chuckle]

[a pause] Been busy, then?

I'll agree, the snow has been a nicer contrast to the gloom. It's still cold out, so maybe it wont all melt away too fast? There is still time to enjoy it?

I suppose you could say so. Between finding a suitable job, then finding a place to live with a friend of mine, things have just been a bit hectic.

Yeah, I guess. And who knows, maybe it'll snow again sometime, right? Hopefully next time without the week of darkness.

Ah, job hunting's always a killer. I happened to be lucky, and the man who owns the ramen shop was hiring just a few days after I arrived. My ah, friend owes his rent in less than four days and he still hasn't found a job...and he's being stubborn and refusing to stay with me until he can pay it.

Same to you, Watanuki. And my free housing time is up, so I guess you could say sort of long.

Yes, lets hope the next snow fall comes with less darkness and much less death. Not that I've come to expect anything less from this city.

Some how I managed to find a job, I'm not exactly sure how, but I am grateful. I'm also grateful in the fact that a friend from home is here as well, so we went into finding a place together. It's easiest to run one house on more then one paycheck.

Well, that sounds like long enough. You've managed to find shelter then? And your friend, he'll give in and stay with you if it comes down to it, wont he?

The murder is worrisome, yeah. I wish we'd had any solid evidence to go on, other than just shared dreams and cryptic messages, including a half-finished one.

Mm, same here. In a way, I want others from my home to arrive, but I also would prefer for them to be safe, and they'd be safer back home.

Paid my rent yesterday. [pauuuse. sigh] I don't know. Depends on if he's willing to swallow his pride...which is a bit of a gamble considering him.

I'm this close to paying his goddamn rent for him with whatever money I have left right now.

This whole place is worrisome, but yes, that murder seems to take the cake. It's frustrating if not a bit maddening.

I'm not sure if I should say sadly, or thankfully, but someone close to me came at the same time I did, then his grandfather appeared, so... I have two connections from home. As much as I'd like to see others, I'd not wish them through this place. But, I understand.

Ah, good. It feels good to not have to worry about rent for a month, doesn't it? I hope your friend finds a way though. Or just takes your offer. Around here, everyone has to help cover everyones backs. Remind him of that some time? Maybe it will help. You might come in hard times later and he could help, like you're trying to do now.

Mm. I've been trying not to worry about it too much. There's not much we can do right now, and panicking only makes it worse. It's still troubling though...

Someone from my world came a little less than a week after me. But we weren't exactly very close in our world. Still working on changing that, though. [There's a grin in his voice, even though it does sound slightly sad.]

[another sigh] Trust me, I've tried. He's stubborn. And he's got that pride of his...

He'll probably help me out if I'm in trouble, but he doesn't want any kind of help or friendship from me. It's...complicated.

Upsetting as it is, there isn't much we can do, is there. I wish that could be different. We all just have to stick together and keep an eye on each other, for now.

Hmm... [There is a pause, and he might have nodded, considering all this.] I see. Well, at least you have the chance to work on that now. the prideful ones are always a hand full [As if HE could speak!]

That does sound complex... I hope it all works out for the best for everyone though.
