[It's shaky, a blur of green and gray and something else, something faded and dirty. Her breathing is ragged and exhausted and quick. Aside from the rush of wind and the rustle of leaves, there's nothing before the feed cuts.]

[Some time later.]

[It's an impact that's turned the Forge on; it rolls and catches Asellus' face, tense with pain as she ( Read more... )

Looks like it's lunch time.

You alright?

Oh, good. I'm starving. [She's sure that's not what he means, though.]

Oh, me? [There is a moment where she thinks about being totally honest-- she's tired, she hurts all over, and whatever they used to knock her out has given her a hellacious headache.

But she just settles for:] My nose itches. [In the most petulant tone ever. What? Sunburns are annoying.]

Sorry, I think we're supposed to be lunch.

Ah. Well it is a touch red.

Oh. That might explain the whole cage thing back there. You'd think they'd realize there's hardly enough meat on my bones to be an appetizer, much less a meal. You've avoided coming near the dinner plate, I hope? You don't look filleted....

Anyway, I took a badly-timed nap in the sun. I may take several more. Excusing myself from the buffet was... a little bit of a trial.

You found yourself in one too, Ase-chan?

[Wow, he's actually not making fun of someone for a change.]

Nah. Guess snake ain't a delicacy to them.

You might wanna find someplace a bit safer than that first. I'd be inclined to help, if you'd like.

I did. It was not a place I want to wake up in again. Though I guess the alternative would be to be eaten asleep... I wonder how that might have gone. In any case, they should really know better than to keep animals big enough to ride nearby. I'm no maiden to be carried off by a unicorn, so I guess that giant wolf was good enough.

Clearly, they lack taste.

Ah, would it be too much trouble? I only like being troublesome when I plan it.

Ridin' a wolf sounds perfectly ladylike to me.

[Gin chuckles.]

I haven't run into too much trouble yet. If you could change that, I'd actually like to see it.

It smelled pretty bad, though. [She wrinkles her nose and then winces. No nose-wrinkling for a while, she guesses.]

Why, Gin. That sounds like a challenge. [...But she's grateful. She'll never admit to the sudden fear of waking up in a strange place, nor the fact that she may not even be up to that challenge, but the idea of company is at least a little steadying in all this chaos.]

Can you tell where I am, or should I try to figure it out?

Ah, that's the trouble with dogs. Useful, but smelly.

I'll find ya. Consider that a challenge too.

[One that a little shunpo will make short work of.]

I don't know. They're a lot less... snippy than cats, usually.

Hide and seek seems a little misguided around this sort of chaos, you know. [A bit of amusement in her voice and her eyes are gleaming.] I'll be waiting with bells on... and a stopwatch.
