[The picture's upside-down at first, and in extreme closeup, showing just one eye. Then it rights itself and pulls back, to reveal a very small Andalite

[Ax is not so sure about flowers, but when he gets close enough, he finds that there is, indeed, very delicious grass in the area near the gate. He thinks the grass is better at home, but he tries not to think about that. At least he knows by now that his brother is here, even if their parents are not.
And Elfangor's presence is something he cannot explain any more than his own. Could it really be magic?]
It's the best grass in the whole city! All that delicious, tasty chlorophyll does a body good.
[the camera follows trickster and from around a corner comes a short human man who morphs into an adult Andalite at the edge of the grasses before stepping into it]
< oh, this is... interesting... I've never been a blue alien before >
[he walks towards Ax, testing his footing in this form and noting that the grass does indeed have a taste through his hooves]
< I told your older self, but I'll tell you too... I'm the Trickster and I have godlike powers... it's pretty awesome >
[bounces around on his four legs like a fuzzy blue tigger and stops to study his tail, waving it around and prancing and generally acting like a teenager on an energy drink high]
[suddenly notices he has eyestalks and moves them around looking at everything... cuts some of the taller flowers down with his tail blade]
< I guess the cliche of don't run around or you'll poke out an eye is especially true for you >
[Ax would like to say that this is not true, but he is wobbly and clumsy enough that he has often been in real danger of depriving himself of a stalk eye.]
< I am careful when I run! >
[He watches the flowers fall to the ground, and takes a swipe at some nearby with his own tail blade, to prove he can without injuring himself.]
< Yup! I can turn into pretty much anything I want. This form is really fun! >
[prances around some more... twisting and trotting and testing out everything he can do... makes a tree sprout up and grow full-sized in seconds and uses it as target practice for his tail]

[Ax watches with his main eyes very wide as the tree appears and grows out of nowhere. He is beginning to approve of Trickster, though he still finds him somewhat unsettling. He wins a lot of points with Ax by approving of being an Andalite.]
< I do not know in human years. I have not yet started school. >
[He tips his head curiously.]
< And you only have to imagine it? You do not have to acquire anything? >
Acquire what, kiddo? I don't need anything but an image or an idea to do whatever I want.
Is the grass tasty? I've never eaten it this way before. It's different alright. >
[dances in a circle around Ax and comes to stand in front of him. his adult form is much larger than the kids, but their features are very much the same. Trickster tilts his head and studies the alien kid]
< The DNA-- > [Ax begins, but this is not something he is supposed to know yet, and it is certainly not something someone who is not truly an Andalite has any business knowing.
He looks back at the not-human who seems completely and convincingly like an adult of his own people (has to tilt his head and stalk eyes back a bit, because of the height difference).]
< DNA? That's an interesting way to copy something.
Really, really! Anything at all. I usually look human, but I can do this or a lizard or a tree or a cloud or nothing at all. Invisibility is pretty wild. >
[Trickster winks at Ax and gestures to a patch of grass nearby that's different from the rest, newly made from what he could read from the kid.]
< I picked it up from your mind. It'll always be here now when you want a taste. I think it's a vast improvement on the previous landscaping. >
[Trickster is glad that something so simple could make the kid happy. Not to mention that he was a fount of information on dad's creatures from other planets and dimensions. Trickster's tail swayed contentedly through the air.]
If you leave the park and head towards that huge imposing archway door thing? There's delicious grass all around it.
[has indeed transformed the splotchy grass around it into a field of wildflowers and sweet grasses]

[Ax is grinning with his eyes as he canters toward the gate.
No one has ever told him not to take sweet grass from strangers, and it has not occurred to him that humans, or human-like beings, do not eat grass.]
< Magic is for stories for little kids. >
[But there is a part of him that would still like to believe, and would do so, if confronted with the smallest amount of proof.]

You'll find out magic is real soon enough.
[as soon as Ax gets to the patch of deliciousness, Trickster has plans to show up and fake morphing into an Andalite :3 ]

< What are you? >
[His silent voice is wary, but he has not brought his tail up into a defensive position. Yet.]

He goes to the grass the not-human indicates and tries it.
