[005] Arrays {Video; Broadcast Mind}
[There's a peaceful scene, at first. Two young brothers returning home, about ten and eleven, racing one another with their arms full of groceries. The elder, obviously Edward, goads the younger one to keep up, pausing as he approaches the house and enters, opening the door.]
"Hey Mom, sorry we took so long, we're home no--Mom!" [A shriek, voice breaking a little as he drops the bag of food, the other quickly joining him at their fallen mother's side.
The doctor hurrying and checking on Trisha. The diagnosis wasn't optimistic. ]
"It's definitely not something she picked up over night. She's been dealing with this for a while."
[At her side, listening to him talk to Granny Pinako in the other room, trying to reassure their only family left as she lay there getting weaker and sicker, taking her hand in their two smaller ones. Trying to ignore the prickling and burning at his eyes. He's a big boy, she always said.]
"Your father left us some money. I haven't touched it. Use it, take care of each other, take care of your brother, Ed...."
[Later, at the cemetary at her grave. Al claiming he was cold and hungry and could they go home and how were they going to manage without her?]
"We're not, Al. We're going to bring her back."
[And that's how it all started.....]
